New Netflix Onimusha Anime Clip Reveals Actor Toshiro Mifune as Musashi Model!

Netflix recently released a new trailer with English subtitles for the Onimusha anime adaptation of the CAPCOM video game. The trailer reveals Toshiro Mifune (best known for his roles in movies like Rashomon and Seven Samurai) as Musashi Miyamoto's character model.
The Onimusha anime premieres worldwide on Thursday. Previously, some of the main voice actors were announced, including:
- Akio Otsuka as Musashi Miyamoto
- Toshihiko Seki as Kojiro Sasaki
- Houchu Ohtsuka as Kensuke Matsui
- Daiki Yamashita as Sahei
- Subaru Kimura as Goro-Maru
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Heikuro
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kaizen
- Makoto Furukawa as Gensai
- Aya Yamane as Sayo
- Ryohei Kimura as Iemon
The anime was directed by Shinya Sugai, who was previously involved in projects such as Walking Meat and Dragon's Dogma, at animation studio Sublimation. The music for the anime is composed by Hideyuki Kurata, who is also known for his work in series such as Read or Die, Made in Abyss, and Goblin Slayer, along with Koji Endo, who was involved in the live-action adaptations of Blade of the Immortal and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable.
Studio Shochiku is responsible for historical supervision in this anime, while Action Coordinator Keiji Tsuji helps deliver the thrilling action. Kim Jung Gi is in charge of character design, except for the character of Miyamoto Musashi which is credited to Manilyn Toledana.
It is important to note that this anime is hosted by the renowned director, Takashi Miike, who has directed various acclaimed movies such as Ichi the Killer, Blade of the Immortal, Crows Zero, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable. The theme song for the anime is titled "The Loneliest" and is sung by Måneskin.
CAPCOM first released the Onimusha game series in 2001, which combines stories from the Sengoku era with supernatural elements. The series has inspired many fans and become an icon in the world of video games. The game series has also inspired projects such as the CG movie Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006, which delivered stunning animation to fans.
Since then, the series has also seen updates, including the re-release of Onimusha: Warlords refurbished in 2019. With the Onimusha anime coming soon, fans are excited to see how the series will translate into an animated form!
