Nintendo, the gaming industry giant from Japan, is reportedly preparing to release its newest handheld gaming device, the Nintendo Switch 2, at the end of this year. This news created excitement among game lovers all over the world. Switch 2 is expected to bring various interesting innovations, even without the OLED screen which is usually the main highlight.
According to analyst from market research firm Omdia, Hiroshi Hayase, and a report from Bloomberg by Takashi Mochizuki, Nintendo plans to launch the Switch 2 with an 8-inch LCD screen. This news has spread quickly, especially after the report by Gizmochina on January 29, 2024. In its report, Gizmochina revealed that Nintendo aims to produce around 10 million Switch 2 units in the first fiscal year, a very ambitious target.
It should be noted that achieving a target of this size could be an extraordinary achievement considering the challenges faced by Nintendo's competitors, such as the Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series
Although it will not come with an OLED screen in its initial release, Nintendo has not ruled out the possibility of releasing a version with more advanced screen technology in the future. A move that could take the Nintendo gaming experience to a higher level.
The Switch 2 was showcased to publishers and developers at Gamescom last year. Based on leaks that have been circulating, this console will be powered by the Nvidia Tegra 239 chipset, equipped with 8 GB RAM and 64 GB storage space which is large enough to meet the needs of modern gamers. Additionally, there is speculation about gameplay capabilities with 1080p resolution and support for Ray Tracing. Processors based on the 5nm or 8nm node are also the subject of speculation.
However, what you need to pay attention to is the price. The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to retail for around $399, a significant increase compared to the original Nintendo Switch. This price increase can be caused by increasing production costs and fluctuations in currency exchange rates. Despite this, loyal Nintendo fans seem willing to pay more for the more advanced and engaging gaming experience that the Nintendo Switch 2 will offer.
With high hopes and ambitious sales targets, the gaming world is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 at the end of this year.
