Boruto closes 2019 with Episode 138. While this week’s episode tells Boruto’s dilemma in choosing a birthday present for his beloved grandpa, Hiashi Hyuga. What’s the story? Check this Boruto Episode 138 discussion!
5. The Suitable Gift for Hiashi?
This week’s episode focuses on the birthday of the leader of the Hyuga Clan, Hiashi Hyuga. Lately, Hanabi sees that her father seems lonely, as he had not seen his two favorite grandchildren. With Hiashi’s birthday coming up, what if the Hyuga Clan celebrates it?
Now’s the time for the grandchildren, Boruto and Himawari, to choose a gift for their beloved grandpa. Himawari being helped by Hinata to look for the appropriate gift. What about Boruto? His mom told him to decide by himself, and he’s uncertain.
4. Sneaking into Hyuga Residence?!
In order to find out what Hiashi’s actually into, Boruto snuck into his second home with Mitsuki silently.
Before that, let’s think about it first. Boruto’s actions were pretty foolish, don’t you think? He secretly got into a house belonging to the Hyuga Clan, who's known for having the Byakugan. This kekkei Genkai is infamous for its ability to see anything. So, it’s a futile effort sneaking into the place.
No wonder, moments after they arrived at Hiashi’s house, Boruto and Mitsuki were caught red-handedly by Hanabi.
3. Hiashi’s 180 Degree Change
Since Boruto aired, Hiashi shows quite different traits from before. He’s now much more friendly, generous, and very compassionate towards his family. Contrary to Hiashi from the past, who was infamous for being stern, assertive, and very disciplined.
The reason behind those traits was the Hyuga’s internal conflict which ended up in the sacrifice of Hizashi, Hiashi’s twin. For the Clan’s sake, Hinata’s father left his soft side and went hard towards his students, including the Hyugas.
2. It’s Kurenai Who Helped Boruto
Still not getting an idea of the perfect gift for his grandpa, Boruto went to Mirai Sarutobi’s house to meet Kurenai. Finally, after all this time, Azuma’s wife was brought up again.
So, why did Boruto go to Kurenai for a piece of advice, not another member of Hyugas? Considering that Mirai’s mother was once Hinata’s teacher, she’s the one who knows the Clan’s intricacies outside of the family itself. So, it’s actually pretty smart of Boruto to ask Kurenai.
After listening about Hiashi’s past what he would crave for at the moment, Boruto decided on the right gift for his grandpa.
1. Boruto’s Gift: Hyuga Family Moment
It’s Hisashi’s birthday. The entire Hyuga’s member came - starting from Naruto, Hinata, Hanabi, Boruto, to Himawari. Firstly, Himawari handed her gift, an orange scarf. Naruto’s youngest child wished for his grandpa to keep warm and healthy. Understandably, Hiashi was touched by that.
Boruto’s up, his gift turned out as not an item, but a moment of togetherness at that time. Hinata’s eldest son then asked all the members of the family to gather around to capture the moment of the simple party to be remembered forever. Hiashi’s immediately burst into tears and went after Boruto.
Those were five things that represent the story of Boruto Episode 138. Personally, for the author, Boruto’s gift was indeed a great gift for Hiashi. His life is full of regrets. Therefore, he will use the remaining time to use it wholeheartedly.
