With the release of Boruto episode 200, it’s time for the author to discuss the episode. But before that, let’s talk about the previous episode.

Naruto trained Kawaki as his student alongside Boruto and Himawari. However, a Kara group member called Delta came to disturb the training session. Delta attacked Himawari with his laser attack and Kawaki blocked the attack in a pinch at the cost of his arm being cut off.

Naruto angrily fought and discovered Delta’s weakness in which he could only absorb a limited amount of Chakra. With Naruto being a Shinobi with an immense pool of Chakra, he let Delta absorb his Chakra to the point where he overloaded and Delta’s eyes became inactive.

After being defeated, Delta self-exploded and Naruto immediately defended his children prior to Kawaki’s warning.

With that out of the way, let’s discuss how this week’s episode goes!

1. Kawaki Receives a New Prosthetic Arm

After previously losing his arm in his attempt to shield Himawari from Delta’s laser attack, Naruto brings Kawaki to Konohagakure to attach a new prosthetic arm.

It turns out that Konoha has yet to reach a level of technology on par with Kara. Kawaki’s new arm is hard to use, but Naruto gives an idea to make it functional by flowing his Chakra to Kawaki’s body. However, this leads to a rather bizarre situation where the arm stops working if Naruto is asleep, because this Chakra flow system is similar to Naruto’s Kage Bunshin no Jutsu.

2. Kara Group Notices Boruto’s Karma

At Kara group’s hideout, a flying Drone returned from the place where Delta and Naruto fought. The Drone possesses an item that can revive Delta.

Delta then reports to the other members that Boruto possesses the Karma, and that said Karma comes from Momoshiki who’s looking for a vessel.

3. Sasuke Trains Sarada to Improve Her Chidori

Sasuke trains her daughter Sarada at a waterfall to improve her Chidori. She has to work hard to perfect her father’s thunder skill, a signature skill inherited from Hatake Kakashi.

Somewhere else, Naruto trains Kawaki with Boruto and Mitsuki. After being raised into his student, Naruto trains Kawaki to use Chakra with his new hand. Because he’s not used to his new hand yet, Kawaki used his Karma to throw kunais instead.

4. Boruto Introduces Kawaki to Shinobi Card Gacha

After the training, Team 7 kids gather in Konohagakure. Boruto introduces Kawaki to his favorite Shinobi Card Gacha to bring him down to the depth of the abyss that is gacha together with Boruto. 

Boruto treats Kawaki with a booster pack from his regular trading card game shop and Kawaki receives a very rare SSR Gacha in the form of a card with the Fourth Hokage/Yondaime’s picture. Boruto gets jealous because he always gets cards with his dad’s picture on them. To console him, Kawaki asks Boruto to trade his Yondaime’s card with Boruto’s Naruto card, which brings a smile back to his face.

5. Kawaki Meets Kurama the Kyuubi

At night, Kawaki becomes aware of Naruto’s words that the flow of Chakra in his body creates a connection to Naruto. When Naruto is asleep, Kawaki tries to fill in the vase that he broke and fixed with water. Because the vase is not completely recovered, the water spills from the vase.

Kawaki wants to go outside to find the remaining shards, but then Kurama the Kyuubi or the Nine-Tailed Fox suddenly appears in front of Kawaki. Due to the Chakra in his new hand, the connection between Kawaki and Naruto becomes stronger, and Kurama materializes and invites Kawaki to approach him.

And that’s it for Boruto episode 200. For the upcoming Boruto episode 201, Kurama seems to be interested in Kawaki as he looks a lot like Naruto the Seventh Hokage.
