Oda Draws Roronoa Zoro at Age 40 and 60, Here's How He'd Look!
What would Roronoa Zoro be in his old age, would he still be a Santoryu user? Check out Oda’s drawing here!

Roronoa Zoro is arguably one of the coolest characters in One Piece. There aren’t many swordsmen who use the three sword style and wield another sword on their mouths. Also, Zoro still has a mysterious secret that left a scar on his left eye during and after the Timeskip.
Speaking of Zoro, Oda draws the moss-head in his older days. In a column of SBS volume 91, a fan asked, “I want to see the future of Zoro at age 40 and 60 as well”. This seems to be a follow up after Oda drew other characters at their 40 and 60-year-old.
Oda then replied with a drawing of Zoro at 40 and 60. Below is a picture of Zoro in his older days when everything sailed smoothly. In other words, he probably had accompanied Luffy until he became the Pirate King while he himself had become the Strongest Swordsman in the World!
Age 40: Yontoryu (Four Sword Style) Zoro
Age 60: Gotoryu (Five Sword Style) Zoro
Does this mean that as he grows older, Zoro will get to be an even stronger swordsman who wields even more swords? What would he wield the swords with in Five Sword Style? Perhaps he’d end up like Killer Bee in Naruto who wields 8 swords. Whereas the picture below shows Zoro where something went terribly wrong with his life. Probably if he had never met Luffy.
Age 40: “I’m quitting. Holding that katana in my mouth has made my back hurt.”
Age 60: “I’ll kneel down if you’ll lend me some money.”
Zoro in this universe sure looks to suffer a lot. At 40, he could no longer fight using his three sword style. Whereas at 60, he had thrown away his pride as a swordsman. Luckily, it’s just an alternative universe.
If we take a closer look at the first picture that hopefully shows the main universe, Zoro looks even more similar to Rayleigh. Rayleigh who only wields a single sword is already that powerful. Just imagine Zoro at 60 wielding 5 swords. It’s highly possible that he could surpass Rayleigh one day.
Mihawk must be so proud of his protege in his future (if he’d still be alive). That was Oda’s depiction of Zoro at his 40 and 60, both where everything goes to plan and where his life’s a mess.
