Sanjuan Wolf is a member of Blackbeard's elite group known as the "Titanic Captains," and commands the 7th ship. He is a feared, legendary criminal imprisoned in Impel Down for unspecified crimes. Teach freed him during the raid on the prison.

Oda explains several interesting facts about him in One Piece Vivre Databook #0648. Sanjuan Wolf is 99 years old and was born in the giant village located in the West Blue. He ate the Deka Deka no Mi, granting him the potential power to become the largest giant in the world. This Paramecia-type fruit increases his size to 180 meters. Oars, on the other hand, is only 60 meters, about a third of that.
