In this week's episode, Zoro has recovered and starts fighting against King. In One Piece episode 1046, Hyogoro, who sees Zoro fight, remembers a swordsman he once knew. Hyogoro is also surprised when he sees Zoro with Enma in his hand.

Kawamatsu then explains to Hyogoro how Zoro got Enma. The reason Kawamatsu doesn't stop Hiyori from giving Enma to Zoro was due to the sword was exchanged for Shusui, a Wano's national treasure. Hyogoro also says that Zoro is similar to Daimyo Ringo, Shimotsuki Ushimaru, when he was young.

A One Piece fan once asked Oda whether Shimotsuki Ushimaru is Zoro's father because they have similar appearances and are both swordsmen. Unfortunately, Oda said that they are not related. This means that it is still unknown whether Zoro is from Wano or not.
