Successfully Defeating Alter Ego, ONIC Wins MPL ID S16, Winning Back-to-Back Champions!

The Grand Final between ONIC and Alter Ego took place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at NICE PIK2. The match was held in a best-of-7 (BO7) series format, with the winner receiving the Immortal Cup, as in previous seasons. ONIC had a strong chance of winning MPL ID Season 16, but Alter Ego wouldn't give up easily, ready to make history.

In Game 1, Alter Ego looked formidable with the Hayabusa and YuZhong combo of Nino and Yazuke. Meanwhile, ONIC tried to counter their opponents with Lancelot and Uranus of Kairi and Lutpi. Alter Ego won teamfight after teamfight, but ONIC lost several opportunities. The game seemed to be a tight affair for both teams in the opening match.

Alter Ego secured the third Lord. Arfy's Granger initiative took down Kairi, and Lutpi fell victim to the fall of one ONIC player after another, ultimately allowing El Familia to secure the first point. In Game 2, Alter Ego regained the early lead thanks to the play of Granger Arfy and Yu Zhong Nino. However, ONIC tried to counter with Harith Skylar.

ONIC secured Lord and quickly stormed Alter Ego's base. The comeback occurred, but Alter Ego's defense was fragile, and ONIC finally equalized in Game 2. Capitalizing on the momentum from the previous game, ONIC regained control in Game 3 with Hayabusa Kairi and Cici Skylar. Alter Ego struggled, but Yve's play from S A N Z created key momentum.

With Lord secured, ONIC quickly stormed Alter Ego's base. One by one, Alter Ego's players were eliminated, and ONIC finally secured their second point. In Game 3, ONIC again hampered Alter Ego's progress with a Lancelot and Kimmy combo from Kairi and S A N Z. ONIC secured Lord and quickly stormed Alter Ego's base, and ONIC was one step closer to becoming the MPL ID Season 16 champion.

In Game 5, which proved decisive for ONIC, Kimmy's Hayabusa combo returned. However, Alter Ego tried to suppress ONIC's strength with a Baxia combo from YVE, Yazuke, and Hijumee. The match was quite intense, as a loss for Alter Ego would have clinched the MPL ID Season 16 title. Alter Ego tried to hold their own against ONIC's onslaught, and a teamfight ensued near the El Familia base.

ONIC secured their third Lord and immediately charged. Without Nino, Alter Ego struggled. Kairi and SANZ picked off Alter Ego's players one by one, and ONIC ultimately won the MPL ID Season 16 title, securing a 4-1 victory in the Grand Final. It was a truly remarkable performance from Skylar and his teammates. ONIC, the MPL ID Season 16 champions, secured back-to-back championship titles this year.
