The Origin of the Name RRQ Tora in MPL MY Season 17, Pak AP's Hopes for Dyrennn and Friends!
A few days ago, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) CEO, Andrian "AP" Pauline, often called Pak AP, attended the press conference for the opening of the "New Era" of MPL Malaysia Season 17. Pak AP was there to introduce the RRQ Tora team to all MLBB fans in Malaysia. Mr. AP was very enthusiastic about the arrival of the new MPL MY Season 17 competition, where his team, RRQ Tora, will be one of eight teams competing.
In an interview with the media, as reported by EGN, Pak AP expressed his hope that his team can compete in the upcoming MPL MY Season 17. "Today marks the MPL Malaysia Season 17 press conference and the first reveal of the RRQ team. We hope to compete in MPL Malaysia." said Pak AP, as reported by EGN. According to Mr. AP, the roster and team strength are considered adequate and meet the standards he has set. He believes it's important for RRQ to build their initial foundation in this year's MPL Malaysia.
"It may not be the best, but it isn't the worst either. I believe a solid foundation is necessary for a good start to our first season," he said. Mr. AP also added that he hopes RRQ Tora can advance to the playoffs and at least finish in the top four in their first season. "A realistic aim might be to finish in the top four, or even snag a playoff spot. But since the other teams are pretty solid too, I don't want to set the bar too high," Pak AP added.
Pak AP emphasized that in his first season, he will try to learn more from the teams in MPL Malaysia and try to get to know the new RRQ community in Malaysia better. "Get to know the MPL Malaysia teams better and maybe also learn more about the new RRQ community in Malaysia," he explained. Speaking about naming the team, Pak AP stated that each division he manages always has its own name, generally derived from Japanese terms.
Regarding the word "Tora," Pak AP also mentioned that it's derived from the Japanese word for tiger. This is because the team competes in Malaysia, which is synonymous with tigers, so he wants the team to be a tiger in MPL Malaysia. "We always name all RRQ divisions, especially if there are multiple ones. Instead of flags, we prefer using names. These names are always linked to Japan; for instance, 'Tora' translates to tiger in Japanese. Ever since we came to Malaysia, our philosophy has been clear: we aim to embody the spirit of tigers in Malaysia, the land of tigers," said Pak AP.
Mr. AP also added that he appreciates the enthusiasm of the MLBB community in Malaysia for MPL MY Season 17. He also expressed his satisfaction with the facilities he has provided his team, providing Dyrennn and his teammates with excellent facilities and a supportive environment for training and improving their performance for the upcoming competitive season.
"The excitement is off the charts! But what really matters to the fans is our ability to perform, as they will back us if the team can grow, improve, and succeed. The Gaming House is still quite fresh, so it needs a lot of investment. However, the kids are thrilled, happy, and there haven't been many complaints at all. The living space is also new and nice, creating an ideal environment for them to concentrate on their training," he concluded.
