Kumamoto is the hometown of One Piece author, Eiichiro Oda. In 2016, an earthquake of 7.0 Richter scale rocked the place. Oda decided to donate 800,000,000 Yen to his hometown to rebuild his hometown.

After Kumamoto recovered, the governor of Kumamoto, Ikuo Kabashima, used part of the funds to build statues of the Straw Hat crew as a token of his gratitude to Oda. The statues are built at various locations in Kumamoto Prefecture in turn. This time, it's the turn of the bronze statue of Roronoa Zoro which is soon to be installed.

This bronze statue of Zoro will be unveiled on January 22, 2022, at Ozu Central Park, Kumamoto prefecture, Japan. This statue is said to be able to increase the attractiveness of the city of Ozu. Stay tuned for further news about the appearance of this bronze statue of Zoro!
