Good news has come from Rex Regum Qeon's (RRQ) VALORANT division, where they officially welcomed a new coach to replace the previous coach, Marthinus "Ewok" Van Der Walt, who decided to step down after Valorant Champions 2025 Paris some time ago. Ewok's departure certainly leaves a significant hole in RRQ Valorant's strength.

With the 2026 competitive season just around the corner, Rex Regum Qeon is moving quickly. A new RRQ Valorant coach must be prepared to build a new game foundation and solidify RRQ Valorant's position for the upcoming VCT Kickoff competition. The sooner the better, the better. RRQ Valorant's new coach has been found, and it appears to be the best choice for the King of Kings.

Replacing Ewok, Jovi Officially Becomes RRQ Valorant's New Coach for the 2026 Competitive Season!

Throughout RRQ Valorant's journey in the Pacific League competitive scene, Ewok has been the only coach to remain active since 2023. Throughout RRQ's VCT Pacific career, Ewok has had several mentors, until finally, in the 2025 season, Evan "Warbirds" Olzem officially became his assistant/analyst. Warbirds previously coached Team Secret.

Ewok's resignation was largely due to his desire to start a new chapter in his VALORANT career. Furthermore, health was also a factor, considering that throughout RRQ's Pacific career, he never decided to quit or take a break, ultimately winning the first VCT Pacific 2025 trophy for the King.

Furthermore, RRQ Valorant has also successfully competed in various international competitions, from Masters Toronto to Champions Paris 2025. Therefore, Ewok believes it is time for him to step aside and be replaced. This will support RRQ Valorant's progress in the coming competitive seasons. Ewok's replacement has now been announced.

"Introducing our new coach - Jovi joins RRQ Valorant. RRQ Valorant has a new leader - welcome Jovi as our Head Coach! With a wealth of global experience, Jovi joins the squad in a new chapter. It's time to improve your strategy, strengthen your synergy, and push for next-level gameplay. Let's chase the crown together!" wrote RRQ Valorant.

If you're wondering "who is Jovi?" before joining RRQ Valorant, Jovi was an assistant coach for TALON. Previously, Jovi managed various renowned teams such as FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses (GC), OpTic Gaming, and 100 Thieves. As previously mentioned, Jovi has a wealth of experience ready to The King of Kings.
