For those of you who have just started to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, you will have to choose between the three decks, each comes with its own unique effects and playstyle – some are rather easy to understand, while the others aren’t. Each of these Starter Decks has 40 cards in the main deck, and 5 cards in the extra deck. Half of the deck contains Monster cards, while the rests are Trap and Spell cards. Here are the 3 Starter Decks you’ll find in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel:

• Power of the Dragon;
• Synchro of Unity;
• Link Generation.

Of those three decks, which one’s the best? Well, the answer is, all of them are equally powerful if you know how to use them.

Power of the Dragon (Beginner-Friendly)

For beginners, Power of the Dragon is probably the best Starter Deck for you given that this deck doesn’t boast complicated card mechanics. This deck focuses on the basics of Yu-Gi-Oh, as you only need to have a core understanding of the rules and the types of cards. 

Power of the Dragon also has numerous Trap and Spell cards that are highly effective when paired with Monster cards – so, you don’t need to come up with complex fusions or find the best interlink.

Unfortunately, this deck has a drawback, it lacks Spell cards that can help set you up with your main Monster cards – making it a bit difficult to summon your best Monsters, like the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

However, as long as you can summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field, you’ll have a huge opportunity to win duels.

Link Generation (Suited for More Experienced Players)

While the Power of the Dragon boasts basic cards that you may find familiar, Link Generation contains new cards with mechanics that can be confusing for some beginners. Link Generation relies on chain link mechanics to summon the best Monsters from the extra deck.

Due to these link mechanics, sometimes you’ll have to think about what your next steps will be. Therefore, you may also take a longer time to make your decisions – because if you take the wrong step, you may end up losing the duel.

Link Generation is teeming with Cyberse type cards. So many of these Cyberse Monsters, Traps, and Spells are interconnected in this deck. The synchronization that this deck offers makes it an interesting one for some players.

Synchro of Unity (Medium Difficulty)

Synchro of Unity is a deck with a medium level of difficulty. This deck tends to be easy to understand much like the Power of the Dragon, yet it takes time and extra effort to get a grasp of some aspects of it, similar to Link Generation. This deck focuses on Synchro Summon, which is easier to pull off than a Link Summon, yet it still allows you to summon powerful Monsters.

Thi deck is a great choice for those of you who have got an intermediate understanding of the basics in Yu-Gi-Oh to transition yourself into other card mechanics.
