Hero Sora Luffy will release soon.

A new hero named Sora has become a hot topic in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) community. Many players have speculated that his release had not been a coincidence, but rather a part of MLBB’s large-scale collaboration with One Piece. This theory had grown even stronger, especially because Sora’s fighting style had remarkably resembled the abilities of Luffy, the main protagonist of the anime.
Interestingly, Sora’s skill mechanics had perfectly mirrored Luffy’s elastic fighting style and signature rapid-fire attacks. From swift punches to aggressive leaps—plus the Thunder and Torrent modes that had strongly resembled transformations like Gear Second and Gear Fourth—it was understandable why players believed this hero had been designed as a “warm-up” for the official collaboration.
The MLBB community also had pointed out how Sora’s kit had combined high damage and high mobility—two traits closely tied to Luffy’s combat identity. This even led many players to believe Moonton had intentionally released Sora to capitalize on the rising hype ahead of what could be the biggest collaboration event in the game’s history.
With player excitement continuing to rise, Hero Sora MLBB Luffy has become one of the most discussed topics in the community. Many players have already been eager to see how he performs in the Land of Dawn, especially since his unique skillset has appeared like a “hidden teaser” for the One Piece collaboration.
Hero Sora MLBB Luffy Is Arriving Soon — Here’s His Full Skill Explanation
Hero Sora MLBB Luffy has featured three different skill modes: Default, Thunder, and Torrent. Each mode has introduced a unique fighting style and has provided extraordinary flexibility. Before diving into his active skills, his passive ability already has clarified that Sora is a momentum-based stack hero.
Passive – Mystic Surge
Every time Sora deals damage to an enemy hero or summon, he has gained 1 Cloudstep stack. At 5 stacks, he has been able to enter either Thunder or Torrent mode when using his ultimate. In Thunder mode, extra HP has been converted into Physical Attack, turning him into an assassin; in Torrent mode, bonus Attack has been transformed into Max HP, allowing him to behave like a tank. This conversion mechanic has made Hero Sora MLBB Luffy extremely similar to a character with two drastically different power forms—just like Luffy.
Skill 1 – Default: Sundering Strike
Sora has delivered two physical attacks, then performed a lunge that has scaled with his Total HP. After attacking, he has been able to dash once more. These rapid consecutive strikes had felt very reminiscent of Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Gatling.
Skill 1 – Thunder: Thunder Flash
In Thunder mode, this skill has transformed into a four-hit combo followed by a high-damage lunge. Sora also has been free to move during the animation—a mechanic that has captured the essence of Luffy’s Gear Second with its insane speed and aggression.
Skill 1 – Torrent: Overwhelm
Torrent mode has changed the first strike into a heavy blow that applies slow, followed by a lunge that has delivered a brief stun. This defensive, CC-oriented version has resembled the heavier, control-focused style of Luffy’s Gear Fourth.
Skill 2 – Default: Windstride
Sora has leapt forward to deal damage, then slammed the ground for extra damage and slow. If the attack hit a hero, the cooldown had been reduced. This mobility skill had reinforced his identity as a mobile fighter much like Luffy’s aerial combat style.
Skill 2 – Thunder: Thunder Rush
The Thunder version has summoned a storm that hits twice and slows enemies, making it ideal for burst setups.
Skill 2 – Torrent: Skyfall
In Torrent mode, Sora has leapt upward, knocked enemies backward, then slammed them down with an airborne effect. This heavy CC has allowed Hero Sora MLBB Luffy to fit perfectly as an offlaner or semi-tank.
Ultimate – Default: Shifting Skies
This ultimate has allowed Sora to choose his transformation:
-
Swipe left to enter Thunder mode, granting movement speed and massive burst.
-
Swipe right to enter Torrent mode, pulling enemies inward and dealing AoE damage.
This ultimate has stood at the core of his flexible gameplay.
Ultimate – Thunder: Heaven’s Wrath
Sora has jumped into the air and struck the target area 15 times. Each hit has dealt small damage, but the rapid sequence had strongly resembled MLBB’s version of Luffy’s Gatling attacks.
Ultimate – Torrent: Stormbind
Torrent mode has unleashed 10 waves of heavy AoE damage with slow, while allowing Sora to move freely.
With a design nearly identical to Luffy, multiple transformation-like modes, and rapid-strike combat, many fans believe Sora has been intentionally created to precede the MLBB x One Piece collaboration. The collaboration itself has already been confirmed, complete with skins inspired by the anime’s main characters.
Is Sora truly a “living teaser” for the MLBB x One Piece collaboration? The community certainly has leaned in that direction. Regardless, Hero Sora MLBB Luffy has stood out as one of the most exciting and creatively designed heroes MLBB has ever released.
