The Swiss Stage M7 World Championship has reached Round 3, where each team is beginning to determine their path. Will they advance to the Knockout round (High), or advance to Round 4 (Mid), or perhaps even be eliminated from the competition? (Low). All will be on display in Round 3 on January 12-13, 2026. Including the Indonesian representative, ONIC.

ONIC was scheduled to face the Russian team, Team Spirit, in Round 3 of the Swiss Stage M7 World Championship. ONIC suffered a surprising loss to Myanmar's Yangon Galacticos (YG) in Round 2. Nevertheless, hope remains for Kairi and his teammates. They must not be careless, as a loss to Team Spirit will make their position even more difficult.

Sanz Responds to ONIC's Loss to Team Spirit, Admits They Didn't Play Their Usual Game!

The match between ONIC and Team Spirit in Round 3 of the Swiss Stage M7 World Championship took place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. As previously mentioned, the match against Team Spirit was a mid-round match, with both teams playing a best-of-one (BO1) series. If ONIC lost to Team Spirit, their position could be in jeopardy.

Facing Team Spirit, ONIC actually had an early lead. This was evident when ONIC secured the first two turtles. However, towards the mid-game, Team Spirit slowly saw gaps in ONIC's play, allowing SAWO and his teammates to build momentum for a comeback. ONIC was overwhelmed and eventually cornered, as Team Spirit successfully limited ONIC's movement.

Oneshot's Leomord play, coupled with Kid Bomba's Esmeralda initiation, further solidified Team Spirit's lead. With the first Lord secured, Team Spirit successfully stormed ONIC's base, and ultimately won this prestigious match. Even Kid Bomba celebrated Team Spirit's victory by taunting Kairi and his teammates.

After the match, Sanz answered Dunia Games' (DG) questions regarding ONIC's loss to Team Spirit. Sanz stated, "Actually, our preparation was pretty good. But, when we returned to the tournament, we didn't play our usual way," Sanz said. "Our playstyle in tournaments is different from scrims, and we don't know why we suddenly seemed so chaotic in the tournament," he explained.

While he didn't elaborate, it's safe to say that something was going on within ONIC that prevented them from performing at their best. Nevertheless, hopefully, the issues they're facing can be resolved soon so ONIC can win their next match, considering they only have one chance left to stay in the M7 World Championship.
