Over the years, shonen anime has produced a wide variety of male characters ranging from weak to strong. Even so, some mangaka have struggled to create well-rounded female characters who can compete with their male partners. Unfortunately, these women are so behind in development that they are never stronger than the men.

Jujutsu Kaisen, a series about sorcerers fighting cursed spirits, raises the standard for writing female characters. The women in Jujutsu Kaisen are not only strong-willed and powerful, but also unique, full of spirits, and willing to go the extra mile to achieve their own goals.

Maki Zenin

Maki is a second year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. She comes from the Zenin Clan, a family of powerful Jujutsu sorcerers. She is an outcast in her family because she does not have the ability to see cursed spirits.

However, her low rank as a Grade 4 sorcerer as well as her lack of spirit sensing ability did not discourage her. She is a cursed weapon master who can use a wide variety of tools and is physically strong.

She is able to catch bullets with her bare hands and easily defeats Miwa, who is quite strong.

Mai Zenin

Mai is also a second year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High School and a 3rd grade jujutsu sorcerer. Not only is she a member of the Zenin Clan, but she is also Maki's twin sister. She was forced to become a Jujutsu sorcerer after her sister left the clan. For this reason, she harbored a lot of hatred towards her sister.

Even though Mai didn't want to become a sorcerer and didn't have much cursed energy, she was still very strong. Mai uses a gun and bullets infused with cursed energy. Her most powerful ability is construction.

She can create objects from nothing, which she uses to create extra bullets when she runs out of them.

Nobara Kugisaki

Nobara is a brash first-year student who is extremely overconfident. She is a member of the trio with Yuji and Megumi. Although Gojo initially doubts her, Nobara proves that she is just as ready as the others in terms of both tricks and combat.

She wasn't physically strong, but she had a huge amount of cursed energy to use. While fighting at the Eishu Detention Center, she could hold her own until she ran out of weapons to use. Besides that, she is also very brave because she has fought against a special class which proves that she is indeed very strong!

Momo Nishimiya

Momo Nishimiya is a third year student of the Kyoto Jujutsu High School. She looked young but she had a lot of experience as a Jujutsu sorcerer. She has no physical strength but excels in mobility and information gathering.

Her technique allows her to control a broom and fly with it. She really is an expert as a watcher.

Kasumi Miwa

Even though Miwa wasn't able to show all of her skills during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, it was clear she was a skilled sorcerer. Even though she didn't have any innate techniques, she was able to defend against Maki, a weapons expert.

Miwa lacks confidence and often compares herself to her classmates, but she doesn't let anyone underestimate her. She worked hard to improve her superb sword technique.
