The battle getting more heated after a rumor saying PES managed to acquire Real Madrid’s license from FIFA.
Reporting from Altrchar, the news came first from a Twitter account named William G. Martins. This Portuguese man believed that Konami as the publisher had secured the license to include Real Madrid in PES 2021 exclusively.
William stated that the exclusive contract between FIFA and Real Madrid had expired in 2018, but the contact extended to an unknown extend. William believed that the contract will expire in 2020 and moved to Konami.
To support his theory, William said that recently FIFA 20 released retro jerseys for exclusive teams. Interestingly, the jerseys were only available for Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG, and Liverpool, while Real Madrid which one of the most popular teams in FIFA 2020, didn’t receive the same thing.
This theory reinforced with Real Madrid legendary player, Fernando Morientes, in "Iconic Moment Series" in PES 2021. William believed that this is Konami’s way to give a teaser of Real Madrid’s arrival to the next PES installment.
Let’s see if the rumor is true in the future. If it’s a yes, FIFA will remove Real Madrid from their game, as they did to Juventus.
