One Piece has an extraordinary lore and is very broad to tell. The author of this story, Eiichiro Oda has planned the story well in advance and carefully considered how each character, location and events relate to each other. There are no discarded moments or lines in One Piece which makes it very interesting.

In the current arc that is Wano, Luffy must face off with the emperor of the sea, Kaido. What fans may not realize is that the anime has left some hints that Kaido's son, Yamato, could be the next member to join the Straw Hat crew.

So what are the clues that Yamato will join the Straw Hat Pirates? Here's the review!

Luffy Looking for 10 Crew Members

Oda has proven that he has a thousand ideas to be able to relate past events to the present in One Piece in a satisfying way. One example is when Monkey D. Luffy exclaims that he would like to have a musician in his Straw Hat crew.

Several hundred episodes later, Brook joins the team. In much the same way, Luffy also once said that he wanted to have 10 members to complete his pirate crew, and Yamato would be the final piece of the puzzle to fulfill that wish.

The Incident of Roger and Oden Will Be Repeated

So far there may be quite a lot of similarities between Luffy and Roger. For example, Roger took a very specific route in his quest to find One Piece and so far that location has also been visited by the Straw Hat Pirates.

During Roger's adventures, he also brought Oden into his crew as a rookie pirate who wanted to leave the Wano Kingdom. They later found One Piece together, and this chain of events would occur if Luffy decided to let Yamato join the Straw Hats.

Yamato Wants to Adventure in the Sea

One of the greatest needs for a would-be pirate is the desire to explore the oceans. Luffy and his brothers had this desire since childhood, and it eventually led to them either joining forces or creating the various crews they ended up having.

In a recent flashback, viewers have seen that Yamato has a burning desire to set sail. And that can be realized as well as a hint that he could go with Luffy across the ocean.

Yamato Has Access to Kaido's Secret

As most One Piece fans know, finding legendary treasures isn't just about sailing to the right location. The New World ocean is filled with powerful pirates and dangerous environments. Finding One Piece relies on four Road Poneglyphs.

These are ancient stone pillars of unknown origin that lead to the final destination. Kaido and his crew already have knowledge of where the rest of the Poneglyphs and Yamato can pass that knowledge to Luffy after joining the Straw Hats.

Yamato Fits Right Away with Luffy

Every member of the Straw Hats has an unshakable belief that their captain will become the Pirate King. They would stick with him through ups and downs to achieve this goal, and the same could be true for Yamato.

By this time, Yamato had acknowledged how strong Luffy was. Even Luffy had time to repeat Roger's statement about being the Pirate King which brought a lot of meaning to Yamato.
