The PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) competition was a professional PUBG Mobile league that existed in several regions, including Indonesia, from 2020 to 2022. Generally, PMPL competitions were held at the national level, known as PMPL ID in Indonesia, and were regional, such as PMPL SEA. However, starting in 2024, the PMPL was discontinued and renamed the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL), which is more exclusive and regional.

Since the introduction of the PMSL, it has been difficult for some non-partnership teams to develop. Especially if they have to start at a national level competition like the PUBG Mobile National Championship (PMNC), the chances of creating sustainability and surviving in the competitive scene are quite slim. Therefore, players often long for the PMPL's comeback as an inclusive competition for all.

Level Infinite Hints at PMPL Return in 2026, Competition Will Be Even More Exciting!

The return of the PMPL to the PUBG Mobile Esports roadmap will undoubtedly restore inclusive (open) competition for many. Furthermore, a more hierarchical competitive scene will likely improve the quality of all PUBG Mobile teams across regions. Therefore, the PUBG Mobile Esports team has already developed the idea of a PMPL comeback.

On the first day of the PMGC 2025 Grand Finals, Friday, December 12, 2025, we saw the announcement made by James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports Center Level Infinite - PUBG Mobile. The PUBG Mobile Esports 2026 timeline presented by James Yang does not mention the PMSL competition, which would suggest that the PMPL is returning to improve the competitive level in each country.

"Next year, we will hold over 30 national-level PUBG Mobile competitions in over eight regions, which will lead teams to regional qualifiers that will determine which teams will advance to the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO)," said James Yang. The outline presented clearly mentions "National Qualification," which is believed to be the PUBG Mobile Pro League.

In fact, James Yang stated, "There's a new format for the qualification system. We're replacing the PUBG Mobile Super League with tournaments that are more open to amateur, semi-pro, and pro teams," he said. "This means more opportunities, a qualifying path to global competitions, and more opportunities to reach players more easily. You can now become part of the PUBG Mobile esports ecosystem," James Yang added.

While Level Infinite hasn't confirmed that the PMPL will return in 2026, let's look forward to what surprises Level Infinite will bring to PUBG Mobile players worldwide. Furthermore, it aims to improve the quality and level of competition in the PUBG Mobile Esports competitive scene to make it more inclusive, exciting, and engaging for a wider audience.
