In celebration of the release of Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle on Netflix (September 8, 2021), the Mythical Dark & Grass-type Pokemon, Zarude has arrived in Pokemon GO! A similar thing has happened before with the release of Shiny Celebi. Zarude’s arrival in Pokemon GO is expected to build the hype for the movie.

So, how to catch Zarude in Pokemon GO? You can do so by completing the “Search for Zarude!” Special Research task during this event (October 1-10). And, once you receive this Special Research task, you can complete it with no time limit.

This Special Research task is also rather easy to complete, you just need to catch various Pokemon, taking pictures of certain Pokemon types, securing Great Throws in succession, using Berries to catch Pokemon, and defeating Team Rocket Grunts. After that, you just need to claim the numerous prizes, with the best prize being a Zarude!

Zarude is quite powerful and has a great Moveset. If you Power Up this Pokemon to its max, it has a CP of around 3,800s at level 40. You can use Zarude as one of your Pokemon to climb the Master League with unlimited CP. Its Dark & Grass-type Moveset is great to counter Superior Pokemon like Giratina, Mewtwo, Kyogre, etc.

During this event, Jessie & James are also making their return with their Meowth Balloon. Jungle and Exploration-themed Pokemon like Explorer Pikachu will spawn more frequently in the wild. Don’t forget to complete the “Catch 10 different species of Pokemon” and “Defeat 5 Team Go Rocket Grunts” Field Research Tasks at the Pokestop as you can receive Rufflet as the prize. Shiny Rufflet is currently quite rare, thus it’s a great chance of catching it to add to your Pokedex.
