Kiboy MLBB Profile - Trivia
1. Starting His Career with ONIC Since 2020
Speaking of Kiboy's career, he is one of the most mature players in the competitive scene. Kiboy first began his career as a pro player when he was introduced by ONIC Esports in 2020, specifically for MPL ID Season 5. At that time, Kiboy was introduced as a backup to Teguh "Psychoo" Firdaus. In addition to Kiboy, several other newcomers were also introduced, such as Rasdalima, Angsa, Jhehehe, and GOV.
However, Kiboy's career didn't immediately lead to a breakthrough in the competitive MPL scene. He was then transferred to the MDL squad and played for ONIC Prodigy for several seasons.
2. A New Beginning in MDL Indonesia
Playing in the MDL for two seasons, Kiboy learned valuable lessons. He and ONIC Prodigy managed to reach the playoffs. However, they stalled in 5th-6th place in their first season and began to improve, finishing 3rd-4th in their second season. ONIC Prodigy's progress was halted by the defeat of Siren Esports. Shortly after, Kiboy was promoted back to the MPL squad, replacing Psychoo.
3. Returning to the MPL Squad - Winning the First Title
After a brief stint in the MDL, Kiboy was entrusted by management to return to the MPL squad. Kiboy finally made his debut in MPL ID Season 7. Topping the Regular Season standings and qualifying for the playoffs was a great start for Kiboy and his teammates. Unfortunately, their performance in the playoffs was lackluster. After making it to the upper bracket, ONIC was relegated to the lower bracket by Bigetron Alpha.
Onic's progress in MPL ID Season 7 wasn't long after they were sent home by Aerowolf. Kiboy and his teammates' journey didn't end there, as ONIC once again demonstrated their strength in the Regular Season of MPL ID Season 8. Sitting atop the standings, ONIC once again dominated the upper bracket of the playoffs. Unlike last season, they were unwavering. Instead of dropping to the lower bracket, ONIC managed to take down EVOS Legends.
Unfortunately, ONIC suffered a defeat against RRQ Hoshi. Dropping down to the lower bracket, ONIC defeated EVOS Legends again after a fierce duel, closing the match with a score of 3-2. ONIC then challenged the King of Kings, RRQ Hoshi, in the Grand Final. The match was quite intense, but in the end, Team RRQ was defeated by ONIC with a score of 3-4. This victory marked the first victory, the first title for Kiboy and his teammates.
4. Golden Age with ONIC, 3-Peat Champion, Ups and Downs at International Championship
Having won the MPL ID Season 8 title, Kiboy and his teammates' passion for ONIC has been further fueled. It could be said that ONIC's ninth season was truly mature. ONIC's strength continued to stagnate, securing the top spot in the Regular Season standings. Ultimately, ONIC qualified for the playoffs once again. In the playoffs, ONIC defeated some formidable opponents. They were again defeated by RRQ Hoshi in the upper bracket and faced AURA Fire. Kiboy and his teammates prevailed 3-2.
Unfortunately, season 9 proved to be an anticlimax for ONIC. RRQ Hoshi emerged victorious, and the MPL title ultimately changed hands. Season 10 marked the beginning of a golden age for ONIC, with the arrival of Kairi and Coach Yeb. Kiboy's career soared, with ONIC winning four consecutive MPL championships, from seasons 10, 11, 12, and 13. Finally, Kiboy and ONIC won MPL ID Season 15 and Season 16. Kiboy also won his third international title with ONIC at MSC 2023, having previously won the ONE Esports MPL Invitational in 2021 and 2022. Unfortunately, since his participation in the MLBB World Championship, or M-Series, Kiboy has yet to win a championship.
Kiboy made his M-Series debut at the M3 World Championship. At that time, ONIC was eliminated prematurely in the Group Stage. At the M4 World Championship, ONIC finished in the top four after losing to RRQ Hoshi in the Lower Bracket Semifinals. Finally, ONIC suffered a disappointing M5 World Championship, losing 3-2 to APBREN in the Grand Final. Hopefully, Kiboy can finish his campaign at the M7 World Championship.
5. Believed to be Donkey's Successor
As a Roamer or Tank player, Kiboy's playing style is often compared to that of the renowned player, Yurino "Donkey" Putra. The former EVOS Legends M1 Champion is known for his skill with various heroes, including Chou, Grock, Kaja, and Minotaur. His aggressive play and ability to seize the right momentum to support the team's performance are key factors.
Kiboy consistently provides support in every teamfight for his teammates. It's no surprise that his role as a Roamer is crucial to the team. It's fair to say that Kiboy is often considered Donkey's successor.
