PLAVE is a virtual idol group that made its debut on March 12, 2023. PLAVE is the first South Korean boy group in the K-pop world to take a virtual theme as its members. The name PLAVE itself is a combination of the play on the words “Play” and “Rêve” which means dream in French. 1. Using Motion Capture Technology

If you pay attention, the visuals of the five PLAVE members are similar to handsome manhwa characters. Now, if the visuals of manhwa characters are usually created with computer graphics, PLAVE is moved using Motion Capture technology that can capture movement in real-time to be used to move each character. If you are familiar with this type of display, you usually know it as a Vtuber. Actually, behind the PLAVE characters, there are people who move them with the motion capture technique, so the technique is different from AI or AI idol groups that existed before.
