There are various kinds of unique and strong jutsu in Naruto’s world, one of them is Kugutsu no Jutsu -- a puppetry technique as well as Sunagakure shinobi’s signature. There are 10 kinds of the strongest, legendary ninja puppets akin to seven Kirigakure swords: they are Chikamatsu’s 10 masterpiece puppets.

Hence the name, Chikamatsu’s dolls were made by Monzaemon Chikamatsu, where after few generations, inherited to Chiyo, Sasori’s grandmother as well as well known kunoichi due to her puppet controlling technique. Let’s take a look at these 10 Chikamatsu’s puppets.

Secret White Technique: 10 Chikamatsu’s puppets are kugutsu ninjutsu created by Monzaemon Chikamatsu, the first creator of ninja puppets in the world. As the first ninja puppets, they said to store tremendous power and could destroy a fortress to dust. Their power was proven when Chiyo managed to destroy Sasori’s 100 puppets using these Chikamatsu’s dolls.

These puppets can’t be controlled carelessly, but there is a certain, high technique that can be mastered with a veteran puppet master called ‘Yubi ni Su’ technique, allows users to control each puppet with one finger.

Types of Chikamatsu’s Puppets

1. Puppet #1: Takes a form akin to an oni with a horn, this puppet has massive arms which can be used as a short-range attacker.
2. Puppet #2: Has a face like a horse with grey stripes, it’s also short-range attacker but can stretch its arms and throwing small bombs to increase its range.
3. Puppet #3: Has a red face with spiky white hair. His face can be opened and producing chakra blades which can cut almost anything.
4. Puppet #4: Has a long hair and paired with #3 during battle. Its hands can be stretched and can hold #3 and swing it, attacking with chakra blades.
5. Puppet #5: A bald head puppet that stores secrets weapons inside holes on its head has a long wire which can penetrate the enemy’s body.
6. Puppet #6: Has a blue pattern on its face and has ‘So’ kanji on its mouth.
7. Puppet #7: Has ponytail hair, has a beard and decorated with red pattern. Has ‘Ho’ kanji on its mouth.
8. Boneka #8: Has long white hair and has ‘Butsu’ kanji on its mouth. With two previous dolls can unleash ‘Sanbo Kyukai’ technique.
9. Puppet #9: Has an appearance like a woman with a bun. It stores a massive sword and used as the main attacker.
10. Puppet #10: The only puppet with one eye, it can throw a lion head ball for Shishi Heiko jutsu.

Chikamatsu Puppet’s Strongest Jutsus

Sanbo Kyukai

A combination attack by Puppet #6, #7, and #8. Taking formation like triangle tower, they open their mouth, exposing kanji mechanism inside, and creating a tornado to absorb enemy’s attacks that stand before them; crushing everything they absorb and leaving debris behind their backs.

Shishi Heiko

Fuinjutsu or sealing jutsu which can hold trapped enemies inside until death due to suffocation. In order to make this jutsu to run smoothly, enemies must be trapped in the center of the seal mark and often use a supporting item like lion head cannonball which can be shot from one Chikamatsu’s puppet to grab enemy’s body.
