Fuinjutsu means “Sealing Technique”. As the name suggests, fuinjutsu is ninjutsu that allows the users to seal, chain, or cage living creatures, chakra, or other objects like weapons with the Jutsu. By sealing bodily functions or chakra then users can paralyze their targets.

A mark that an object has other objects within it usually has a symbol, kanji words, or writings/ formula from certain fuinjutsu techniques. To create the fuinjutsu ineffective, a “unbalance” can be created, by hammering the even dotted seal with an odd dotted seal or vice versa.

Fuinjutsu Masters

Even though this technique is a common one and often used by shinobis in general, there once a respected ninja clan by other ninja clans and feared by its enemies due to their ability to use fuinjutsu. They are Uzumaki clan from Uzushiogakure village. 

Many people think that their power is too immense and dangerous, a ninja squad from many nations gathered together to attack and destroy Uzushiogakure village. Some people survived the massacre and scatter themselves to the corners of the world, Uzumaki clan banished without a trace.

Due to close relation with Konohagakure village, many Uzumaki family had once taught some Konoha ninjas their fuinjutsu techniques. Like Shiki Fujin that can absorb a target’s soul to chakra chain technique called Kongo Fusa to paralyze a Bijuu-level spirit.

Tailed Beast Seal Fuinjutsu

There are 2 kinds of Fuinjutsus often used to seal tail beasts in a body of a jinchuuriki that is 4 dots Shisho Fuin seal and Tekko Fujin for lesser ones.

Kuchiyose Breaker Fuinjutsu

Using the Keiyaku Fuin technique, a man can attach a seal to the summoned creature via Kuchiyose and banish the effect or summoner’s control on the creature. But the Keiyaku Fuin users still can't control the beast.

Protection Fuinjutsu

Created by Kirigakure Anbu squad, Kekkaku: Gansoko is a kanji seal that attached to a paper to protect certain body parts automatically by creating a protector aura when in danger.

There’s also Kongo Fusa, where users will be shaped like a chain to attack or to hold their movements, including paralyzing enemies’ body parts by suppressing their chakra. A protection dome can also be created using this chain, and it’s powerful enough to stop anything from coming in and out from the seal. 

Grim Reaper Fuinjutsu

Using Shiki Fujin, this fuinjutsu user can call the power of Shinigami -- a death god, or grim reaper -- to seal people’s souls. When the target has been successfully grabbed by the Shinigami, then the user can reap the soul and seal it into their own.

But soon, Shinigami will take the user’s soul and store it into his gut, also consuming the user’s soul. Those souls whose trapped inside Shinigami’s gut cannot continue their journey to the Pure World peacefully; they are destined to fight with their sealed soul for eternity. The only way to free someone’s soul is by using Shinigami’s mask, got possessed, and commit seppuku.
