Now writers will talk about one of the influential YouTubers who currently become a hot topic in the Indonesian esports industry, Edho Zell. Once Worked as Internet Cafe Cashier

Edho Pratama already being left abandoned by his parents since high school. The name “Zell” was taken from Final Fantasy VIII, who has a bad boy attitude. He intentionally did this because he was a nerd and want to befriend everyone in the school.

Left with no money, forced Edho to work to get what he needed. Even he didn’t shy to work as a cashier in an internet cafe and selling perfumes from house to house. Bad economic state motivated Edho to be a successful man.

Even though his economic condition was unlike other highschool kids, Edho turned out to be a genius one. After graduated from high school, he managed to enroll in a famous state university in Indonesia, Universitas Indonesia.

A Better Living, but…

After graduated from high school, Edho, who had a talent in breakdancing, decided to be a coach and started to get enough paycheck. His eccentric appearance came out due to his job as a breakdancing coach. Because of this, Edho later shunned by his college friends and decided to live in a boarding house located in Mangga Besar near his workplace.

It took him four hours from his boarding house to the university. Couldn't bear with the distance; eventually, Edho dropped out of university and focusing as a breakdancing coach. 

Working as a Host

Already had a skill in dancing, finally received offers to perform on birthday parties. Here, Edho started to be interested in hosting. Fortunately, Edho met with a host who willing to share the experience with him.

To survive in this world, Edho worked so hard and noted all the knowledge he received from his friend every Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, Edho brave enough to be a host and invited to many events. His life turned better and made Edho study again at the London School of Public Relations, Jakarta. The success made him forgot who he was. He later dropped out again and brave enough to fly to Japan.

Suffering in Japan

Didn’t have any knowledge about Japan, made Edho couldn’t do much. He couldn’t read, speak, or understand the Japanese language. This occurrence made Edho suffer and decided to return to Indonesia.

Landed back on his home country, Edho started everything from zero. Sadly, everything was not as easy as he hoped for. He rejected all casting departments, and only the hosting world managed to give him a second chance in life.

First Encounter With YouTube

Remember Keong Racun from Sinta and Jojo? The video served as Edho's first encounter with Youtube. He decided to create a video and uploaded it. His first video only received 30 viewers, and 20 of them were himself. Starting from this point, he began to watch many YouTube tutorials and create “Happy Holiday Indonesia” along with his friends, and one of them was Reza ‘Arap’ Oktovian. But with so many creative differences, Happy Holiday Indonesia eventually disbanded. Edho and his fellow Youtuber started to take their own path.

Gaining Success on YouTube

Edho, who started his career alone, subsequently managed to gain back his mojo. He even offered by Google to enter a training session to improve his video’s quality. In 2014, he decided Youtube as his primary income. In 2015, Edho married Laura Natalia Suciadi, and the couple had a son named Baby EL. 

Currently, Edho Zell’s Youtube channel has reached 3,62 million subscribers that filled with interesting content, like a vlog, parody videos, and few experiments that people didn’t think about it. He once created video game content even though currently no longer.
