PUBG MOBILE is one of eight mobile esports games nominated in this category. Previously, PUBG MOBILE has also been nominated in the same category in 2020 and 2021.

To refresh your memory, PUBG MOBILE originated from PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, the game that rocked the entertainment world in 2017. This game introduced a battle royale genre where 100 players dive into the battleground with a parachute onto a remote island to fight in a winner-takes-all combat. This year, the PUBG MOBILE professional league expanded to 13 regions on five continents, earned recognition from prestigious sports bodies such as the Southeast Asian Games and Asian Games, and broke a record with 630 thousand players registering in the PUBG MOBILE Club Open competition.

PUBG MOBILE's commitment to developing the esports ecosystem globally will continue in the nearest competition, namely the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 with a total prize pool of US$4 million (or roughly around Rp62.5 billion) which will be held on January 6-8, 2023 in Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Indonesia.
