Shocking news came from the top MPL Indonesia team, Alter Ego Esports, as they officially bid farewell to one of their coaching staff, Gustian "R E K T," on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The news of REKT's departure from Alter Ego was announced via the Alter Ego Esports YouTube channel.

For your information, REKT had been with Alter Ego Esports, or El Familia, since MPL Indonesia Season 12 in 2023, where he officially joined as a Roamer. However, in MPL Indonesia Season 13, he transitioned to a coaching staff role (assistant coach), assisting Aldo and Nafari.

During his time with Alter Ego Esports, REKT contributed significantly to Alter Ego Esports' progress to the playoffs in MPL Indonesia Season 14 and Season 15, although he failed to qualify with El Familia in Seasons 12 and 13. No one expected REKT's departure from Alter Ego.

REKT Leaves Alter Ego After 2 Years

As previously mentioned, news of REKT leaving Alter Ego broke on Saturday, August 2, 2025, when REKT bid farewell to El Familia, whom he had accompanied for almost four seasons since MPL Indonesia Season 12. From player to coach, he had carved out a rich history.

"One main goal, always a burning fire. A peak, pursued tirelessly. And although the highest crown has not yet been achieved, his fighting spirit is engraved eternally here. But every great journey has an end, a chapter has been completed. His legacy and struggle will always be part of this story," said Rekt.

"Adios, Alter Ego," he said.

While the farewell message suggests that Rekt's departure from Alter Ego is real, we will certainly be eagerly awaiting the maestro's next move. Could he return to play for another team?
