The news that TODAK's esports division would be disbanding at the end of 2025 came as a major shock to esports fans. This news was not only shocking in Malaysia, but also to fans in Indonesia. As one of Malaysia's leading esports teams, TODAK was known throughout the competitive esports scene in various games, from MOBA, Battle Royale, FPS, and eFootball.

Furthermore, TODAK had become an iconic team in the Malaysian competitive scene, particularly in MPL Malaysia. The TODAK esports division officially disbanded after eight years of supporting the competitive scene in various games. Former TODAK MLBB coach, Azam "Nafari" Nafari, spoke about the TODAK esports division's disbandment at the end of 2025. What happened? What was Nafari's response? Read here.

Nafari Speaks Out About the Disbandment of TODAK Esports Division

For your information, TODAK's last campaign in MPL Malaysia was during MPL MY Season 16 some time ago. To conclude their journey, TODAK failed to qualify for the playoffs. That season, TODAK brought in three or five members from Alter Ego, including Nafari and Devkoch as coaching staff, as well as DreamS, Fawndeer, and Magma. This result certainly wasn't a good ending.

While TODAK's esports division disbanded not because of their performance in MPL MY Season 16, coach Nafari admitted that he knew this would happen. This meant that Season 16 would be TODAK's last in MPL MY, regardless of their results. Nafari explained this to fans in a live stream on his YouTube channel.

"Why did they disband? They wanted to change direction. Actually, I already knew, guys, I've known TODAK was disbanding since I first joined. Even before the season started, TODAK had already announced that it would be their last season. So, you could say, Season 16 was TODAK's last chance," Nafari said. "I was told from the start, before the season started, that it would be TODAK's last season, guys," he said.

"Where are they moving? You'll see what happens. TODAK will still be around, guys. The TODAK name will remain, just the esports team will be gone," Nafari added. An interesting fact, guys, is that after disbanding all esports divisions, TODAK will continue its journey in the esports and gaming industry going forward.
