Overview
Abyss of Dungeons is an extraction RPG that plunges players into dangerous expeditions through dark, threat-laden dungeons. Players must face both monsters and other adventurers in PvPvE mode as they explore the dungeon’s depths. The deeper you go, the greater the risks—and the rewards. Darkness itself is a formidable foe, and players must use the shadows to their tactical advantage while listening carefully for nearby dangers.
The key to success is finding the portal to escape with the loot you’ve collected. Fail, and you’ll lose everything you’ve gathered. Each dungeon run offers a fresh experience with high risk and high reward.

Core Systems

  1. Dark Medieval Fantasy World

    • A mysterious world filled with ruins and monster caves, crafted in detail to create a grim, ominous atmosphere.

    • Developed with Unreal Engine 5, featuring stunning visuals, torch lighting, realistic textures, and immersive audio.

  2. Extraction Gameplay

    • Players must escape the dungeon with their loot—if they die or fail to find the exit, the loot is lost.

    • A shrinking safe zone (Dark Swarm system) forces players toward the dungeon center, heightening the tension.

    • Players need to plan their escape routes and make decisions on whether to fight or flee.

  3. Physics-Based Combat

    • Realistic physics-based combat; each weapon has its own weight, behavior, and impact.

    • A variety of weapons and spells available (swords, daggers, maces, bows, elemental magic).

    • Players can strategically use the environment, like luring enemies into tight corridors or taking cover.

  4. Diverse Character Classes

    • Fighter: Versatile with a shield, strong in melee combat.

    • Cleric: Healer with abilities against the undead.

    • Ranger: Ranged expert, can set traps and attack from afar.

    • Rogue: Fast attacker with stealth and poisonous daggers.

    • Barbarian: Heavy weapon user with roar skills and temporary invincibility.

    • Wizard: Elemental spellcaster with four elements (fire, ice, lightning, arcane).

    • Players can form 3-player teams with strategic class combinations.

  5. Maps & Game Modes

    • The Goblin Caves: Solo dungeon, PvPvE and PvE modes with increasing difficulty.

    • The Forgotten Castle: 3-player team dungeon with high difficulty (Inferno).

    • Shadow Realm: PvE mode with powerful bosses, no player threats.

    • Arena: Competitive 3v3 PvP mode with Dark Swarm mechanics.

    • Village: Safe zone for training and social interaction.

  6. Mobile Optimization

    • Third-person view with optional auto-attack and aim assist for easier controls.

    • HUD and controls are customizable to player preferences.

    • Support System provides backup gear if you fail to escape the dungeon.

    • Altar of Time system allows partial recovery of lost rare gear.

  7. Mercenary System

    • Players can recruit AI mercenaries to complete 3-player teams, even when playing solo.

    • Mercenaries come with different classes, ranks, equipment, and skills.

    • They play a key role in combat strategy: supporting, attacking, or healing.

    • Mercenaries can revive fallen players and take on tactical roles in battle.

Abyss of Dungeons REVIEW

Upon logging in, players are immediately prompted to create a character. The class options are quite appealing. The “Wizard” class unlocks at level 8—just enough motivation to keep playing. Character customization is fairly extensive, with presets available for those who’d rather not fiddle with facial details.
The tutorial is informative enough for new players, introducing basic controls and core dungeon mechanics.

First Impressions of Abyss of Dungeons
For the first run, the writer chose the Fighter class—a melee character with only the barest of equipment: a blunt sword and a simple shield. This starter gear is hardly ideal for fighting tough dungeon monsters, but that’s precisely where the game’s appeal lies: rewards always match your efforts.
Each time you defeat a monster, the loot they drop can become yours—ranging from weapons and potions to survival gear that significantly strengthens your character. This fair loot system provides a satisfying sense of progression: the more diligently you explore and fight, the bigger your rewards.
Before diving into the dungeon world, the loading screen displays a cinematic clip that perfectly sets the mood: a lone explorer finds a treasure chest, savoring his victory—until another adventurer sneaks up and attacks him from behind. Tragically, our protagonist falls, and all his hard-earned treasure is stolen.
Fate repeated itself for the writer’s first in-game experience. After finding a chest and opening it with anticipation, the writer’s character was suddenly attacked from behind by another player—yes, PvP is very much active here! The result? All the loot was lost, including a hard-earned outfit. The character was left with nothing—no equipment, not even clothes.
Fortunately, Abyss of Dungeons has a storage system that saves some of the gold you find. With that, you can buy a new outfit or gear at the shop and try again with a better strategy.
To successfully escape the dungeon and secure your treasure, you must find the portal—the only way out. But be careful, because not every chest holds treasure. Sometimes you’ll find a mimic—a monster disguised as a chest. And let’s not forget the ever-present threat of other players who can ambush you at any moment.
But amidst all the tension, PvP can also be rewarding. If you’re strong enough to defeat another player, you can claim their loot. At this point, Abyss of Dungeons becomes not just a game of exploration and survival, but also one of strategy, instinct, and a bit of luck.
Abyss of Dungeons successfully delivers a thrilling, fair, and surprise-filled dungeon-crawling experience. It tests your reflexes, survival instincts, and decision-making skills. And most importantly: never let your guard down. Because behind every treasure chest, a blade might be waiting to strike.
As a game still in development, Abyss of Dungeons already shows a strong foundation—from the exciting combat system to character progression and the wide variety of exploration modes.
However, since this is a test build, some features and content are still subject to change, and a few in-game items remain hidden and unfinished. The writer appreciates the opportunity to try it early and can’t wait for the final release.
