Playing games is indeed a very exciting activity. Moreover, playing competitive games with friends in one team. Of course speed and accuracy are the main keys to winning a match. Moreover, competitive games in the FPS or MOBA genre, such as Valorant and DOTA 2, are still gamers' favorites to this day. Seeing that gamers' need for quality peripherals continues to increase, Logitech, as a well-known peripheral brand, has innovated again by creating a wireless mouse device that can be relied on for competitive games.

Moreover, games such as competitive FPS require high accuracy and fast supporting connectivity. In response to this, Logitech released a mouse called the Logitech G502X Lightspeed in 2022. Where this mouse is included in the lightweight mouse category, so it is really suitable for gamers who play competitive games who want to level up to a professional level.

Coincidentally, the author got the opportunity from Logitech Indonesia to try out the G502X Lightspeed mouse product. After using it for two weeks, here is the author's review that you can read, guys.

Unboxing

The first glance at the box of the Logitech G502X Lightspeed looks very premium. The front display shows the shape of the mouse itself, and on the back you can see some information about the advantages of this gaming mouse. This box looks very simple, where there is only the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse itself, product usage information booklet, Type A to Type C cable, USB dongle adapter, DPI Shift button cover, wireless USB dongle receiver, and sticker. Even though the contents are very minimalist, the most important thing is the mouse itself.

Light Weight

Even though it's not called a lightweight mouse, the Logitech G502X Lightspeed weighs only 102 grams (without cables). This makes the Logitech G502X Lightspeed a wireless mouse that is quite light in its class. This light weight certainly provides an advantage for gamers who want to have flexibility in playing games, especially FPS. Which like FPS games do require fast hand movements, so a wireless mouse with a fast connection and light weight is definitely the right choice.

Fits in the hand

Logitech G502X Lightspeed has dimensions of 131.4 mm (length) x 79.2 mm (width) x 41.1 (height). This dimension feels very suitable for the author who has large palms. The mouse grips perfectly in the palm of the hand and is not slippery. It's just that, because the surface of the mouse is made of ABS plastic with a combination of matte and glossy finishes in some parts. If your hands get wet quickly, this mouse will often leave sweat marks. So you have to be diligent in frequently cleaning the surface layer so that it doesn't get dirty quickly.

Good Material

Overall, the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse is made of ABS plastic painted matte black. The plastic material used is also not too thick even though it doesn't actually make it feel fragile when held. For the cable part, this wireless gaming mouse uses a type of braided paracord cable which is also often used for mice that have light weight features. Braided paracord cable itself is included in the category of cable types that are flexible and also light. So it's not easy to tangle and easy to clean up. As a result, mouse movements feel more flexible and certainly don't interfere with fast reflex movements when playing.

The braided paracord cable from Logitech G502X Lightspeed has a length of 1 meter, so it is quite safe even if your PC is under a table or in a position that is quite far away. For connectivity, this mouse also uses USB, so it's easy to plug in. But Logitech has also embedded a USB dongle adapter, which is useful if your PC is under the table, so that in order to provide low latency you can use it by placing it on the table.

Feature

Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse offers a number of features that spoil gamers. This mouse has superior features, including HERO 25K sensor, LIGHTFORCE switches, LIGHTSPEED wireless, HERO 25 Sensor, and Adjustable/removable DPI SHIFT button. The HERO sensor feature in Logitech mice is the result of 3 years of research and development by Logitech. This design focuses on maximum performance with minimal power consumption. The HERO 25K sensor is an update to the HERO 16K sensor with the maximum DPI increased to 25,600, making it one of the highest DPI mice on the market. This sensor also has up to a 10x increase in power efficiency compared to the previous generation sensor in Logitech G premium gaming mice.

This sensor is capable of capturing movement at over 400 IPS across the entire DPI range without any smoothing, acceleration, or filtering. This ensures fast and accurate responses to players.

The HERO 25K sensor is also equipped with a system that can adjust the frame rate based on mouse movement. This maximizes performance while minimizing power consumption. This sensor is also capable of tracking movement at the sub-micron level, allowing for a very high level of accuracy when playing. With a combination of the HERO 25K sensor and LIGHTSPEED wireless technology, this mouse offers stable wireless connectivity, low latency, and extraordinary battery life without compromising performance.

Additionally, Logitech has also redesigned the DPI-Shift button so you can choose the right configuration for your grip and style. Remove and flip it over so it's closer to your thumb or replace it with the included cap. Even the scroll wheel on the Logitech G502X Lightspeed also has a dual mode that allows gamers to choose the power of the wheel rotation at will by going into hyperfast mode to make it lighter. With one click, switch to ratcheted mode for precise scrolling. Tilt left and right for two additional fully programmable controls.

Apart from setting it manually, you can also set it via the Logitech G Hub application which can be downloaded for free.

Logitech G Hub

For the Logitech G Hub application from Logitech, you can download it HERE.

In this application, users will be able to make various customizations. Starting from setting each button on the mouse, Sensitivity, Actions, Macros, and System. All customizations made can also be saved so they will not be lost.

What Should the Best Mouse Poll Rate Be?

The best polling rate for the mouse depends on the specific needs of the usage. At its lowest (125 Hz polling rate) it is more than adequate for everyday web browsing. However, if you like to play competitive games with high precision, then a low mouse delay is very important. Some professional gamers really like the smoother mouse feel, while others value precision.

What are the Current Polling Rates?

There are a total of 4 different polling rates available – 125, 250, 500, and 1000 Hz. See the table below for the corresponding polling rate and reporting time delay (rate = 1000 / interval). A higher polling rate indicates a smaller response delay.

You can find the four polling levels on the Logitech G502X Lightspeed and set them via Logitech G Hub.

Testing

When testing the capabilities of the Logitech G502X Lightspeed, the author tried playing the CS: GO game with various DPI settings and the results did not disappoint. The author feels very comfortable when using DPI 800 or 1200, because the movements in the game feel very precise and have very low delay.

Even when trying to test on 3D AIM Trainer in Tile Frenzy mode, the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse also gave the best performance. Again, the cursor moves without delay, providing good precision.

In Mouse Rate Checker, the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse even has a maximum polling rate of up to 1085Hz when using DPI 1600. Of course, the higher the polling rate a mouse has, the better the dot reading speed.

Conclusion

After trying the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse for two weeks, the author felt it was quite comfortable in daily use and when playing games, especially FPS games. This mouse, which is included in the lightweight category, provides an advantage so that the hands can move freely without burden. Moreover, this mouse also uses a paracord type cable which is also quite light and provides high flexibility. So the writer doesn't have to worry about the cable getting tangled and stiff if stored for too long.

The HERO 25K sensor and LIGHTSPEED wireless that are embedded in the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse also provide quite a user experience. However, at the price offered, this sensor should be able to provide something even better. The ABS plastic material on the Logitech G502X Lightspeed does provide the advantage of being very light. But the downside is that this mouse coating can leave traces of sweat and oil. In addition, this latest series is not like the previous generation which has RGB lights on the body, so this mouse is only suitable for those of you who are looking for a gaming mouse that is really light and has powerful performance.

As for price, the Logitech G502X Lightspeed mouse itself is priced at around IDR 1,885,000 on e-commerce. How, are you interested in having it?
