Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 started airing on Indonesian streaming platforms last week. If you have watched the first episode, you must have realized that the background story of the second season of this anime is related to the past story of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguro when they were still Jujutsu sorcerers at school.
You must have noticed that there is a new character present in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, a character named Riko Amanai who has never been mentioned before in the anime, but you could say this character is an important character in determining the storyline of Jujtsu Kaisen to what it is today. So, if you are curious and don't know Riko Amanai, Dunia Games has collected some important information about who Riko Amanai is in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Who is Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Riko Amanai is a character in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen who is 14 years old in the story and has a quite crucial role in the second season of this series. She is a student of Renchoku Girls Middle School and becomes the vessel of the Star Plasma Vessel created for Master Tengen. Where Master Tengen himself will change vessels to a suitable one every 500 years, thus making Riko Amanai the next vessel target for Master Tengen. The joining of Master Tengen to Riko's body will certainly erase Riko Amanai's existence if the transfer really takes place.
When Master Tengen determines a new container for him, then this will make mercenary sorcerers throughout the world of Jujutsu Kaisen determine that Master Tengen's new vessel has a high price to kill. Therefore, it is not surprising that in this second season, you will see Riko being chased by many people.
Due to the hunt for Riko Amanai, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru are ordered to guard Riko Amanai from the assassins who are looking for her. At first, Riko feels normal and didn't have a problem after knowing the fact that she will be the next vessel for Master Tengen because she always lives in loneliness. But ever since she meets the duo Gojo and Geto, she starts to decide she wants to live life with her friends and refuses to become a vessel for Master Tengen.
How's Riko Amanai's Appearance?
Riko Amanai is described as a young, slender girl with long black hair that falls over her shoulders. She is usually seen with a headband in her hair or with her long hair in braids. Riko is usually seen always wearing a white and dark blue school uniform paired with a skirt.
Riko's personality is strong with her outspoken and passionate nature, however, she is still a social girl who cares about her relationships and other people especially since she is still a junior high school student who wants to spend time with her friends at school. In this second season, you will see how Riko's character develops from her role as a Star Plasma Vessel to wanting to live her life happily with other people instead of joining Master Tengen.
Riko Amanai's Power in Jujutsu Kaisen
Riko is a non-combatant character, aka she doesn't have any power to fight curses in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, but she can still see curses and has a fairly good understanding of how Jujutsu sorcerers work. What's more, she also knows the fact that she currently has the status of a Star Plasma Vessel which is suitable for Master Tengen.

Is Riko Amanai Still Alive?
Even though Riko considers Gojo and Geto to be her best friends, they both still have a mission to protect Riko. But unfortunately, their efforts had to fail because Riko dies. Even from the start, Riko was indeed a fugitive of sorcerers who wanted to get her as a vessel for Master Tengen. Initially, there were the Q and Star Religious Group organizations where these two organizations did not want Tengen to join Riko. The two were easily defeated by Gojo and Geto.
But the pursuit of Riko doesn't stop there, the Star Religious Group organization turns out to use Toji Fushiguro who comes up with a plan to kill not only Riko but everyone who is with her. This refers to Gojo and Geto who are on guard 24x7 hours for Riko.
What's the Effect of Riko Amanai's Death?
Riko Amanai's death becomes an important moment in the story of Jujutsu Kaisen, where the two Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerers who protect her, namely Geto and Gojo, also become victims who try to defeat Toji. Even though it ultimately fails, Gojo manages to focus on his own Reverse Cursed Technique to defeat Toji. This made Gojo a more perfect version of himself and the strongest wizard today.
Besides that, Geto, who failed to protect Riko, was also at risk. He instead turns to be a curse user and exterminates Jujutsu Kaisen mages in Yuji Itadori's timeline. Geto's body was even taken over by Kenjaku which was one of the bad effects of Riko Amanai's death. After Kenjaku took over Geto, he directed the cursed spirits to do his bidding while pretending to side with them.
What Would Happen if Riko Amanai's Still Alive?
If you want to imagine that if Riko didn't die, then would Geto still be a good person and not betray the Jujutsu sorcerers? The answer is probably no because the madness that happened to Geto was affected not only by Riko's death but because of his madness after living as a Jujutsu sorcerer. In fact, you could say that everything that happens in the current Jujutsu Kaisen story was destined to happen because of Riko Amanai's death, it's just that it was postponed beforehand. Gojo was even destined to become the strongest sorcerer at that time, and it's proven that now he is the strongest sorcerer even without Riko's death, he will still be the strongest.
Kenjaku also seems to have planned his move from the start so Riko's survival actually only delays his plans. Until finally he found Geto who was slumped and made him the perfect host to carry out his plan. Had Riko didn't die, it could be death for someone else, not to mention that now Master Tengen has become like a curse because he is not integrated with his new container, so he is in danger because maybe Kenjaku can absorb him at any time.
So actually, Riko's long survival didn't affect anyone significantly. But maybe if Riko didn't die, then the emotional stability of these characters would be better than now. Riko was just a poor child and died in vain. What do you think? Do you have a different opinion about the impact of Riko Amanai's death?
