Justice League is getting a robot overhaul in the upcoming DC: Mech series that takes place in an alternate reality where heroes are forced to rely on state-of-the-art robot suits to deal with Darkseid's invasion of Earth. While the Mech thing is new to DC, the presence of a robot character is something fans have been seeing in the comics for years.
There are many robots that have impressed fans because of their creative designs and captivating stories that made the characters' popularity increase. Several robots show their heroic nature, which has earned them a place in this comic.
But unfortunately, there are still many who do not know about these robots. Here are the strongest robots that DC fans rarely know about.
1. Indigo
The robot that eventually became known as Indigo first appeared as an enemy to the titans and the Justice League. Their initial battle resulted in the deaths of longtime members Donna Tory and Omen before she was defeated. Roy Harper/Arsenal then reactivated the restored Indigo to work with her as one of the strongest members of The Outsiders.
Indigo begins to explore her artificial life, but it is eventually revealed that she is the figure used by Brainiac-8 to infiltrate the superhero community. She was able to overcome Brainiac-8's programming and sacrifice herself to save her friends, earning her own memorial statue and a place in fans' hearts.
2. The Metal Men
Dr. Will Magnus created a device known as a Responsometer, which was used to help him create the molten metal bodies of The Metal Men. Each member of the robot team uses a different metal to create their body, which gives them unique abilities.
The Metal Men also developed personalities that set them apart from one another while also reflecting their elemental origins. Gold, Iron, Lead, Lead, Mercury and Platinum are also able to fuse their bodies together to create powerful new forms.
Even though they're not the most popular characters, The Metal Men seem to be getting more tasks in today's DC universe.
3. Henk Henshaw
The man who later became known as Cyborg Superman was originally an astronaut named Hank Henshaw. The crew has changed horribly after being exposed to cosmic radiation in space that caused their deaths.

Henshaw lost his body, but he gained the psionic ability to control and manipulate machines. Henshaw was able to download his consciousness into the Superman Regeneration Matrix, creating a powerful synthetic Kryptonian body to deceive the world after The Death of Superman.
The character continued to develop his clone body over the years which helped Henshaw do some of the worst things Cyborg Superman has ever done.
4. Red Tornado
Professor T.O. Morrow designed the robotic body of the Red Tornado in his quest to infiltrate and destroy the Justice League. However, an alien element named Ulthoom chose the android Red Tornado as his new body and merged with the robot.
Red Tornado has the ability to generate and manipulate wind as an air element and has worked with teams such as the Justice Society of America and the Justice League for many years. The robot has grown in popularity thanks to its appearance in animated series like Young Justice and live-action shows like Supergirl.
5. The Amazo
One of the deadliest robots ever to threaten members of the Justice League and is known as Amazo. He is a powerful android created by Professor Ivo to destroy the evil scientist's enemies. Amazo is unique because he has the ability to analyze and replicate any power he encounters including the power of the Justice League.
This robot has been remade and updated several times over the years and its power selection continues to grow, making the Amazo one of the most powerful robots in the DC universe. A reimagining of the Amazo appears in the animated series Justice League, which explores the transformation of the android into a god-like creature. This highlights the character's true potential in the comics.
