Few days ago, one of the MPL casters, Ryan “KB” Batistuta criticized the results obtained by RRQ Hoshi in MPL Indonesia Season 15 (MPL ID S15) after losing in the Grand Final against ONIC with a score of 4-3. KB assessed that RRQ Hoshi's gameplay was still at the "Local" level.

According to KB, RRQ Hoshi should still be able to improve their level of play, especially since they will compete in the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 Esports World Cup as one of Indonesia's representatives. However, what happened in MPL ID S15 was a major blow to the King.

Instead of trying to provide constructive advice to RRQ Hoshi, some fans seemed unhappy with what KB said. As a result, KB's statement sparked controversy. This eventually became a complaint submitted to RRQ CEO, Andrian "AP" Pauline.

Through a live-streaming session on his YouTube channel, Mr. AP finally spoke up about the problem. What was Mr. AP's reaction to KB's statement about RRQ Hoshi on MPL ID S15?

Responding to KB's Criticism of RRQ Hoshi, Mr. AP: It's Normal!

On Friday, June 27, 2025, through his YouTube channel, Mr. AP as the CEO of RRQ received a complaint regarding several RRQ fans who "attacked" KB regarding the criticism he conveyed regarding RRQ Hoshi on MPL ID S15. Several negative reactions have indeed been monitored through KB's Instagram account.

First, Mr. AP stated that there was no problem with the criticism conveyed by KB to RRQ Hoshi. Mr. AP considered that this was not a problem because it was a podcast show, where every opinion or criticism of an issue is natural if it seems 'spicy' or 'hot'.

“(Response) about KB? I mean that (KB on) a podcast show guys. That's a podcast show, if (he) talks about standards it's not fun, not interesting. I understand, you also have to see his motivation (for that)," said Mr. AP.

Mr. AP added that what KB said was purely a criticism of RRQ Hoshi. He also stated that similar things have become commonplace for RRQ itself where netizens or the public often throw various 'nicknames' that seem to denigrate RRQ.

"The purpose (of the statement) is actually a form of criticism. So, for those of you who have a hard time understanding what KB actually means (to be called) local, that's it. I mean, how come, this is the first time we've been (called) Local, M-Series Clown, what and so on, Dark System and so on," added Mr. AP.

“The runner-up ambassador, it seems like it’s already (become) a daily dose, guys? (I) don’t know, what about you guys? For me, I’m not really affected. I mean, it’s not accepting, but, what do you want? The way to prove it is (by) performing, that’s all,” he said.

Mr. AP emphasized that if RRQ Hoshi was called ‘Local’ it wouldn’t be a problem. For Mr. AP, it was commonplace and didn’t need to be exaggerated. He didn’t even need to respond to any reactions from the other panelists in the podcast and asked fans to stay calm.

“So, if for example ‘sir, you’re called Local’, that’s it. What do you mean, what’s this? I don’t understand whether you’re really Kingdom or pretending to be Kingdom or what, I don’t understand that either. Because, for me (criticism like that) is very common, just normal,” he explained.

“That (is my response) to KB’s (statement). Later Mirko will say this, later Age will say this, later Aeterna will say that, it means (our reaction) is normal. Just relax, just relax, I also don’t understand why you have to be angry like this and that. We (are called) M-Series clowns, never winning an international tournament, that’s it.”

Finally, Mr. AP stated that what KB said did not change the good relationship between the two. Mr. AP considered that it was natural for criticism to be conveyed to his team so that they could improve their shortcomings towards the international stage later. In addition, whatever KB said did not affect the good relationship between the two.

“If you say local, it means that criticism like that is good so that we have to improve ourselves in international tournaments. I just took it as it is, KB and I are really fine. We have chatted, like this and that, don’t lose the context. In this game, winning is praised, losing is just accepted,” he concluded.
