On Saturday, May 9, 2026, RRQ suffered a 0-2 defeat to EVOS in the Classic Derby, leaving them with just one chance before their chances of advancing to the playoffs were completely dashed. In the first leg, RRQ Hoshi lost to Geek Fam with a score of 0-2. In terms of support, RRQ seemed favored to win the match. However, the positive momentum Geek Fam had built up was not to be underestimated.

The resurgence of Baloyskie and his teammates boosted Geek Fam's hopes of advancing to the playoffs. Furthermore, they failed to reach the playoffs last season. Therefore, it was crucial for Geek Fam to continue their "King Slayer" momentum and end RRQ Hoshi's playoff hopes. In Game 1, RRQ Hoshi took the lead with a strong early hold on two Turtles. RRQ seemed to be in the lead for a while, but a teamfight ensued in SuperDann's mid area, and SuperKenn was defeated.

The war raged on as both teams tried to capture the third Lord. Geek Fam secured Lord again and attempted to attack RRQ's base. However, RRQ managed to hold on. Geek Fam secured the next Lord, and RRQ repeatedly thwarted Geek Fam's attacks. The fifth Lord fell to RRQ, and SuperKenn and his teammates rushed to attack Geek Fam's base. Lord moved towards Geek Fam's base.

Nazara and his teammates tried to defend their base. Lord was successfully suppressed, SuperDann was defeated by Nazara, and RRQ's players fell one by one. Geek Fam capitalized on this momentum to make a comeback and secure Game 1. Moving into Game 2, Geek Fam successfully overcame RRQ's various attacks. Lord was captured by Geek Fam, and RRQ's turrets were taken down one by one. The battle for the second Lord was crucial for both teams.

SuperToyy managed to take down Marcel. Aboy countered, and SuperToyy secured a double kill with his Granger, but Kennzyskie took down four RRQ players at once, and Maniac was captured with his Harith. Geek Fam successfully executed a straight push, ultimately sealing their victory over RRQ Hoshi with a score of 2-0. Once again, this victory dashed RRQ Hoshi's hopes of qualifying for the MPL ID Season 17 playoffs.
