The Games of the Future (GOF) MLBB competition is one of the most anticipated competitions at the end of 2025. Two renowned Indonesian teams, RRQ Hoshi and ONIC, are participating in the GOF MLBB 2025 competition. Not only are these renowned Indonesian teams participating, but various renowned teams from various regions leading the global MLBB competitive scene are also participating.
More than just a competition, GOF MLBB 2025 can be considered a "warm-up" event before the global MLBB competition, the M7 World Championship, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in early 2026. It will be interesting to see how the world's leading MLBB teams perform in GOF MLBB 2025 (although not all teams will compete in M7). RRQ Hoshi is especially interested, as this competition is known to be their final stage.
RRQ Hoshi's Journey in GOF MLBB 2025 Ends After Losing to DFYG
The GOF MLBB 2025 competition is divided into two main stages: the Group Stage and the Knockout Stage. As we know, RRQ Hoshi was placed in Group C alongside renowned teams such as Team Spirit, The MongolZ, and Team Falcons MENA. In the Group Stage, RRQ successfully navigated all matches. Sutsujin and his teammates advanced to the Knockout Stage.
The Knockout Stage uses a Single Elimination format, meaning a loss for any team ends their journey. RRQ Hoshi faced DianFengYaoGuai, also known as DFYG, from China. DFYG had previously defeated Team Vamos from Malaysia with a score of 2-1. The King of Kings should have capitalized on this match between RRQ and DFYG.
Playing against DFYG in Game 1, RRQ faced quite a tough fight. The battle between two renowned junglers, Sutsujin and Super Kenn, was a highlight. Despite some early game resistance, RRQ managed to take the lead in the mid game. RRQ secured Lord and attempted to attack the enemy base. Two DFYG players were knocked out, paving the way for RRQ Hoshi.
Finally, RRQ managed to force their way into DFYG's base and end the game. Game 1 fell to RRQ Hoshi. In Game 2, RRQ regained the lead over DFYG from the start. However, heading into the mid game, DFYG managed to catch up with Moskov's Akai combo. DFYG secured Lord and attempted to turn the tide. DFYG successfully applied pressure on RRQ Hoshi's players.
A teamfight ensued in the 16th minute, with RRQ players disappearing one by one. However, DFYG remained undeterred. DFYG managed to repel RRQ's players in the 18th minute, with Sutsujin and Rinz being taken down by Moskov Loong. DFYG regained Lord and launched another straight push. Moskov Loong's play posed problems for RRQ again, and two kills from Yve Yione finally helped DFYG equalize the score.
Playing in the deciding game, DFYG took the lead early. The two teams battled fiercely in Game 3. DFYG's objective, collective play, successfully cleared RRQ Hoshi's defenses one by one. DFYG secured Lord and attempted to attack RRQ Hoshi's base. The Lord was taken down, but DFYG tried to force a final victory.
A teamfight ensued near RRQ Hoshi's base. Sutsujin and Dyrennn were taken down, and DFYG tried to end the game. The remaining three players defended, DFYG's minions penetrated the base, and Super Kenn wiped out all RRQ Hoshi's players, sealing DFYG's 2-1 victory. DFYG's victory ended RRQ Hoshi's run in GOF MLBB 2025.
