The second day of the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 Knockout Stage surprised many MLBB fans worldwide. It featured matches between RRQ Hoshi against Selangor Red Giants OG Esports and Team Spirit against ONIC Philippines on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
In those matches, RRQ Hoshi lost to SRG OG, with the King falling 3-2 to the Giants. This defeat was certainly quite surprising, as RRQ Hoshi was the team that chose to face Selangor Red Giants OG Esports. This victory marked SRG OG's second time sending RRQ Hoshi home in international competition.
In response to RRQ Hoshi's loss to SRG OG, team coach Alfi "Khezcute" Nelphyana spoke about the result. Khezcute accepted the defeat with grace and expressed no regrets.
Khezcute's Response After RRQ Hoshi's Loss to SRG OG
In an interview with Harimau Malaya media, Khezcute responded to several questions after RRQ Hoshi's loss to SRG OG. First, regarding RRQ Hoshi's loss to SRG OG, Khezcute stated that RRQ didn't play as a team. While they were good individually, they weren't as a team.
Khezcute also added that his team had no regrets about choosing SRG as their opponent. He believes that if RRQ Hoshi had played like this (against SRG), they could have lost 0-3 against ONIC.
"Overall, I don't think we played like a team compared to when we scrim. Our individual play was good, but not when we played as a team," Khezcute said. "After we got the chance to pick a second, I saw that between TLPH and RRQ, they would only choose between Aurora or SRG, and ONIC was more prepared for this patch," Khezcute added.
"No regrets, I don't think there are any regrets, because if you played like you did today, we might have lost 0-3 against ONIC," he said.
According to Khezcute, SRG OG's EXP Laner, Kramm played very well. He even stated that Kramm deserved to be named MVP in the RRQ Hoshi vs. SRG OG match. Khezcute stated that Kramm is a difficult player to stop, and he played well and deserves praise.
"I think Kramm was the MVP in this match. He was really difficult to play against, and he played very well to stop him. I admire that," said Khezcute.
Finally, when asked about whether there might be changes to RRQ Hoshi's roster for next season's MPL, Khezcute was tight-lipped. He stated that in esports, nothing is certain, because what is decided today could be different in the future.
"Because this (RRQ Hoshi) roster has been together for almost a year, I don't know. In esports, plans can change in a day or two, and we don't know yet. We're still processing the results of this match. Of course, whatever happens, we'll do our best going forward," he concluded.
