Some time ago, Moonton Games, along with the Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF) and Esports Integrated (ESI), officially announced a total of eight teams that will compete in the "New Era" of MPL Malaysia Season 17, or MPL MY Season 17, using a "Partnership" system. This is the first of its kind in Malaysia, following the system implemented in other regional leagues such as Indonesia and the Philippines. This is intended to elevate the level of competition for the future.

MPL Malaysia Season 17 will no longer be limited to local teams; several renowned teams from across the globe, including Indonesia, Singapore, and even China, will bring a new dimension to the competition. One of the teams announced to participate is the renowned Indonesian team, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ). RRQ Malaysia's presence was previously widely discussed by the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) fan community in Malaysia.
