The VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1 competition is heating up as the Lower Bracket Final features two renowned teams: Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) and Paper Rex (PRX). RRQ, representing Indonesia, is the last team standing after BOOM Esports was knocked out in the previous round.
This season, RRQ Valorant has shown impressive growth, largely thanks to their in-game leader, Ngo "Crazyguy" Cong Anh, who has infused the team with fresh energy and determination. They are also supported by two skilled coaches, Marthinus "Ewok" Van Der Walt and Evan "Warbirds" Olzem.
RRQ's achievements in the VCT Pacific have earned them a spot in the Toronto Masters this June. As Indonesia's representatives, they are eager to showcase their talents on the international stage.
The stakes are high, as the VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1 not only offers a ticket to the Masters in Toronto but also serves as a crucial pathway for teams aiming to qualify for the Valorant Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For both RRQ and Paper Rex, securing a spot at the EWC alongside Gen.G Esports is of utmost importance.
What can we expect from the upcoming match between RRQ and Paper Rex? Stay tuned for our detailed analysis.
RRQ Valorant Triumphs Over Paper Rex, Securing a Spot in The Esports World Cup and The Grand Final of VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1!
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) faced off against Paper Rex in a best of 5 (BO5) series. The teams battled across various maps including Fracture, Split, Pearl, Icebox, and Ascent. In the first game on Fracture, despite being RRQ's chosen map, they struggled against Paper Rex, who dominated the match.
It took RRQ five rounds to score their first point, while Paper Rex ended the first half with a commanding 10-2 lead and ultimately won the game 13-2. Moving to game 2 on Split, Paper Rex's map choice, RRQ began to find their footing, finishing the first half ahead at 8-4.
Although Paper Rex fought back in the second half, RRQ secured a match point but couldn't close it out, leading to an extra round where RRQ's aggressive strategy led them to victory. In game 3 on Pearl, RRQ initially took control, but Paper Rex fought back to tie the first half at 6-6. The second half saw RRQ regain momentum, but Paper Rex pushed them to another extra round. Ultimately, RRQ's swift gameplay left Paper Rex struggling to keep up.
Bryan 'Kushy' Setiawan played a pivotal role for RRQ. In a crucial moment, Maksim 'Jemkin' Babushkin's sniping skills eliminated Something along the B long path. With a player advantage, RRQ kept their composure. Jemkin emerged as the standout player in this match.
Facing a tough situation with only three players left, Paper Rex struggled. Ultimately, RRQ secured game 3 on Pearl, taking a 2-1 lead. As they moved to game 4 on Icebox, Paper Rex aimed to bounce back, with both teams evenly matched.
However, RRQ's diverse strategies were effectively countered by Paper Rex, putting the King in a tight spot. The first half ended with Paper Rex leading 9-3. RRQ found it challenging to regain momentum in the second half, leading to a swift victory for Paper Rex, pushing both teams to the final map.
On the deciding map, Ascent, RRQ took charge right from the first pistol round. The King's early lead made it tough for Paper Rex, who only managed to score their first point in the 7th round.
RRQ once again breached Paper Rex's defenses. The King's team's adaptability and intricate gameplay left Paper Rex in disarray. RRQ wrapped up the first half with a 9-3 lead. After switching sides, Paper Rex aimed to close the gap. RRQ secured a bonus round, bolstering their defense. Paper Rex managed to win a few rounds, but their attack on the B site in the 19th round backfired. A 3v3 situation unfolded, leaving Xffero alone against two Paper Rex players.
F0rsaken was taken down, leading to a duel between Xffero and PatMen. In a thrilling clutch, Xffero's performance propelled RRQ into the grand final of VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 1 and earned them the first ticket to the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC) for the King of All Kings. What a remarkable triumph!
