SBS One Piece: Oda Explains the Definitions of Haki and Mantra!
Actually, what’s the difference between Haki and Mantra in One Piece? Are they both the same thing?
Anime & Manga | 24 July
Before he’s introduced to Kenbunshoku Haki, Luffy once faced an opponent who also used a similar technique, Enel. Yet the technique that Enel used that time was called Mantra. Is there a difference between Haki and Mantra?
In a column of SBS One Piece Volume 62, a fan asked, “Hello, Oda-sensei, This one’s probably just my speculation, but is it true that Haki and Mantra are the same things? In Volume 60, Coby was saying that he felt the presence of people too strongly… so I remembered”.
Oda then replied, “Yes, you’re right. In Volume 61, Rayleigh explains it clearly. Even though the concept is the same, people may refer to it differently, based on the region”. One thing that we know for sure, people in Skypiea call it Mantra, whereas it’s generally known as Kenbunshoku Haki.
