In addition to all of the weapon rounds with special effects on them, we can also install other equipment or attachments that will also increase the performance of our Mk II weapons we have in GTA Online.

There are some essential attachments that you need to have, such as Barrel, Scope, Muzzle, etc.

1. Heavy Barrel

The main function of the Heavy Barrel is to increase damage towards targets in distance.

In a test that we ran using the Special Carbine MK2, it took us 40 shots to kill a target within 100 meters without having the Heavy Barrel applied to the weapon.

But with the Heavy Barrel equipped, it only took 18 shots to bring down the target within the same distance.

It can be concluded, that with the Heavy Barrel equipped, we can get about twice as much damage to targets in distance.

Nevertheless, the Heavy Barrel doesn’t bring any improvement in anything else, such as range, recoil, close-range damage, etc. In other words, this attachment will only increase the long-range damage of the weapon.

2. Scope

In general, there are three types of scopes available for the majority of Mk II weapons; the Holographic Sight to increase accuracy in close range, the Medium Scope for mid-range, and the Large Scope for long-range.

Yet after we ran a series of tests on an Assault Rifle MK2, there’s no significant difference between these three scopes if used in a Third-Person Perspective. Whereas in the First-Person Perspective, the effects from each of these scopes come to life.

However, you’ll rarely find a player who actually plays in a First-Person Perspective in GTA Online, so, it’s fair to say that these scopes for Mk II weapons are not very effective.

3. Night Vision & Thermal Scope

As a special scope that can only be applied on a Heavy Sniper Mk II, the Night Vision Scope provides us an infrared vision, so it’ll be easier to spot our targets in the darkness.

Whereas the Thermal Scope allows us to detect enemies’ body heat, making it easier for us to track down enemies from afar.

Both of these special scopes can only be equipped on a Heavy Sniper MK2 after you’ve completed the researches in the Bunker you own.

4. Muzzle Brakes

The main purpose of this Muzzle is to greatly reduce the recoil of the weapons we equipped it with.

From the many tests we’ve run, we concluded that the more expensive the Muzzle Brake is, the better the performance.

The Slanted Muzzle Brake and the Split-End Muzzle Brake are the two types of Muzzles that we highly recommend since they both have exceptional recoil control and more concentrated spreads.
