Besides the exciting gameplay, one of the plus points from the game PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUBG) is the variety of the weapons available. Those weapons have their own functions. 

To make it even more interesting, a number of weapons in PUBG are inspired by the weapons in real world. Here is the discussion on some of the weapons in PUBG that was inspired by the weapons in the real world.

Tommy Gun

The weapon which was created by John Thompson in 1918 has the real name The Thompson submachine gun. Because it has a large amount of ammunition, this weapon is dubbed as “Chicago Typewriter".

Thompson is a popular weapon back in its day because it often used by many criminals in the United States in the 1920s. This weapon also seen to be used during World War II.

Tommy Gun in PUBG has a similar characteristic with Thompson in real world. Although it can create a large damage, both has a high recoil and cannot use many attachment.

AKM

The name AKM in PUBG is derived from Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovanniy (AKM) that also exist in real world. AKM itself is the modern version of AK-47.

Created by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the 1940s, was one of the popular weapons in the world. Besides PUBG, AK-47 also often appears in the game world used by the terrorists in Counter-Strike and also Call of Duty.

This weapon is known as “the terrorist’s weapon” because AK-47 is cheap and do not need a complicated maintenance. As the results, many terrorist movements throughout the world choose this weapon. 

UMP9

UMP from UMP9 stands for Universale Maschinenpistole which means universal submachine gun. The number 9 refers to the 9mm calibre bullet used for the gun.

In real world UMP9 is the successor to MP5 weapons produced by the German defense manufacturing company, Heckler & Koch. Other than the different bullets used, there is no significant difference from UMP9 and MP5.

Both UMP9 and MP5 are often used by law enforcement as assault weapons. Like in the PUBG version, UMP9 has exceptional stability.

M16A4

Just like AKM, this gun was also popular in Counter-Strike and also CoD as the counter-terrorist weapon. The label "the hero’s weapon" for M16A4 is based on the fact that this weapon is a standard weapon used by the US military forces.

Using the same name as in the game version, M16A4 is an adapted version of the ArmLite AR-15 assault weapon used by the American military in 1959 to 1990. The "A4" in M16A4 indicates that this weapon is the 4th generation in the M16 family.

In PUBG, if this weapon is used properly, this weapon is very deadly. Unfortunately you can only use it on single or burst mode when using this weapon.

AWM

AWM is a very special weapon in PUBG. It can only be found in the air drop, this weapon is also the only weapon that uses .300 Magnum bullets.

This long bolt weapon is famous in PUBG because of it can reach very far and able to produce incredible damage.

In the real world, the weapon with the official name of the Arctic Warfare Magnum is produced by the British weapons manufacturer, Accuracy International. This weapon is used by many military forces in various countries, such as; English, Dutch, German, Russian and also South Korean.

In November 2009, a sharp sniper from the British Army, Craig Harrison, broke the world record for the furthest shot after successfully firing an enemy from a distance of nearly 2.5 km in Afghanistan using AWM. This world chancellor lasted until 2017.
