The official website for the anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's manga Kingdom has just released the main visual and announcements of returning and new cast members in the fifth series!

Here are some of the cast who will join, and who will return, as part of the Zhao Military Group:

1. Toshiyuki Morikawa as Ri Boku/Li Mu
2. Daisuke Hirakawa as Kei Sha/Qing She
3. Koji Ishii as Ki Sui/Ji Hui

This fifth anime series is scheduled to premiere on the NHK General channel on January 6th 2024 at 24:00 JST.

The Kingdom anime first aired in 2012 and was continued with a second series in 2013. Both were also broadcast in North America by Funimation, and the DVD version was released in 2016. The third series faced obstacles in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however successfully returned in April 2021 with a rebroadcast of the first episode. The fourth series premiered on NHK General in April 2022, broadcast simultaneously by Crunchyroll.

This historical-themed manga by Yasuhisa Hara tells the story of a slave named Xin who dreams of becoming a great general for the country of Qin. Along the way, Xin helps Ying Zheng, a young Qin king, rise to power and unify China. With his fighting spirit, Xin was determined to become a superior commander capable of defeating the Seven Warring States.

The Kingdom manga, which debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2006, continues to set records in popularity and success.
