In the world of animation, there are usually two choices that can be applied, using 2D animation and CGI. 2D animation often looks better and certainly has more charm. While CGI can be done well plus it has better results but with risks that also tend to be large.

Even so, there are actually some anime that apply the CGI visual type but with bad results. Bad CGI can not only ruin a project that was supposed to be good, it can ruin a series that was supposed to be great in front of the audience's eyes. So far there are several anime series whose CGI is bad and spoils the whole series.

Vampire Holmes

Vampire Holmes tells the story from the vampire version of the Sherlock Holmes series that emphasizes Victorian Gothic themes. The series' creators wanted something funny, but much of its potential was ruined because the visuals were poor.

Some jokes can be obtained with certain jokes in Vampire Holmes and from the side of the story, this anime is actually quite worthy to be enjoyed. Unfortunately, the poor animation messes it all up. Even the animation is so bad that it makes people talk about the bad animation more often than the good plot.

Kingdom

Kingdom is one of the anime stories that is quite interesting and epic to enjoy. Even though Kingdom doesn't have a huge fan base, it does have a fairly consistent and passionate fanbase and people who watch the series actually know the quality of the anime.

Unfortunately in the first two seasons of Kingdom, this anime relies on terrible CGI and makes the show very difficult to enjoy. Luckily in the third season, the anime creators realized that and started to fix it.

Knights of Sidonia

Knights of Sidonia is not a bad anime. This anime has a fairly large audience, and it is Netflix's first anime that people have loved for several seasons. But unfortunately CGI can't perform optimally to make this series perfect.

The focus of the story of Knights of Sidonia is on humans who are trying to fight an alien race that wants to destroy them. This is a serious plot, but unfortunately the existing CGI can't convey the story well. The series will be remembered for years since it uses traditional animation.

Golden Kamuy

Golden Kamuy is a good series that should be watched by anyone who is tired of the usual shonen stories. Set after the Russo-Japanese war, the protagonist is Saichi Sugimoto. Sugimoto is a former warrior seeking legendary fortune.

The series itself is actually quite extraordinary, but unfortunately this series has flaws. The story of Golden Kamuy is generally shown in traditional animation, but when there is a bear attack in one episode, the animators decide to use CGI.

Not only is the CGI pretty bad, it just doesn't fit the scene. CGI looks unnatural and makes combat look less serious than intended.

Berserk 2016

You could say that Berserk anime is not very good from a visual perspective. In 2016, a team attempted to revive it. But unfortunately the animation presented is still no progress. What's frustrating is that the Berserk anime has the potential to become a legend.

Watching Guts walk through certain scenes would be funny because of the poor visuals, whereas people previously believed that this would be a good manga adaptation.
