After a year of anticipation and speculation, Riot Games has finally announced the next player to be honored in the Hall of Legends, League of Legends' highest honor. Last year, the first Hall of Legends seat was taken by global icon Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. Now, it's the turn of Chinese ADC legend Jian "Uzi" Zihao, who is the second player to be inducted into the prestigious Hall.
Uzi, ADC Icon and Royal Club Hero
Uzi first came to prominence when he played for Royal Club at the 2013 World Championship. His incredible performance and aggressive ADC playstyle quickly made him known as one of the best mechanics in League of Legends history. The team, which later evolved into Royal Never Give Up (RNG), became the home where Uzi left a long legacy in the international esports scene.
His arrival in the professional arena was a moment that revolutionized the Attack Damage Carry (ADC) position. Uzi redefined the ADC playstyle, showing that this role could be a dominant center of play, not just a back-lane support.
Uzi's Achievement: Almost Became King of the World
During his career, Uzi won several LPL titles, and brought the MSI 2018 trophy to RNG. Unfortunately, the Worlds stage remains a dream that has not come true twice, reaching the Worlds finals, but finishing as runners-up. Even so, there is no denying that Uzi remains an all-time ADC icon.
Back from Retirement: An Enduring Legacy
Despite retiring due to health issues, Uzi returned to try his luck in the professional world with Bilibili Gaming and EDward Gaming. Although not as bright as before, Uzi's return was still an emotional moment for fans and the community as if to say that a true legend never really goes away.
