After the massive success of KKN di Desa Penari, Simpleman returns with a new horror story titled Pabrik Gula. This film is adapted from a viral thread that first appeared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), posted by an account with a Breaking Bad Heisenberg avatar. Now, this phenomenal story has been brought to the big screen by MD Pictures.
Synopsis of Pabrik Gula
Pabrik Gula tells the story of a group of seasonal laborers who arrive from a village to work at a sugar processing factory. The group includes Fadhil, Endah, Naning, Hendra, Wati, Franky, and Dwi. At first, everything seems normal, but strange occurrences begin to unfold, especially when Endah experiences supernatural disturbances, such as mysterious whispers and ghostly apparitions.
Tension rises when a laborer is found dead in a well behind the factory. Upon investigation, a dark history is revealed—the factory suffered a massive fire seven years ago, killing many workers. Additionally, the factory is located near a kingdom of demit (supernatural beings). It turns out that the factory owner once made a mystical pact with the Maha Ratu to ensure their coexistence.
However, the laborers unknowingly cross boundaries that should never have been breached. As a result, the evil entities ruling the place become enraged and start claiming lives one by one. Will they be able to survive this terrifying ordeal?
