The signs of Aeronshikii taking a backseat this season have become more visible.
Fresh off a dominant MPL ID Season 14 championship run and an appearance in the M6 Grand Final with Team Liquid ID, no one had expected Aeron’s status in the team to be in question. He had been regarded as one of Indonesia’s top-performing Gold Laners and even had outplayed the likes of Skylar on the big stage.
His in-game performance had been stellar, and his confident interviews and taunts had established him as a bold, entertaining figure in the MPL. That aura, however, has dimmed this season.
The Rise of Kyou – and the Quieting of Aeronshikii
Throughout MPL ID Season 15, Aeronshikii has not been the automatic starter for TLID. In his place, Kyou has emerged as a strong contender for the Gold Lane role—and his performance has not disappointed.
While Aeron has shown moments of brilliance, his overall impact has felt less sharp compared to last season. In contrast, Kyou has brought a fresh dynamic to the team, making a compelling case for himself as the new first-choice.
The clearest signal came when TLID fielded Kyou in their most recent match—and secured a convincing win. But the real whispers began when Aeronshikii appeared on a livestream with Mas Ade earlier this week.
Streaming During the Grind – A Subtle Sign
While not a definitive indicator, it’s worth noting that MPL ID players have rarely gone live during regular season weeks due to their tight practice and match schedules. Aeronshikii’s choice to stream during a crucial week has raised eyebrows.
During the stream, Aeron seemed more open than usual, possibly hinting at internal struggles or his current role within the team. He even played Gold Lane during games with Mas Ade—perhaps trying to keep sharp or subtly remind fans of his capabilities.
Although nothing has been confirmed by TLID, the writing on the wall has grown clearer: the team’s trust in Kyou has strengthened, and Aeron’s path back into the main lineup has become steeper.
This scenario closely mirrors what had happened in the past—when Aeron replaced Kabuki despite Kabuki’s bigger name at the time.
What’s Next for Aeronshikii?
Will Aeronshikii get another shot in the Land of Dawn this season? Or has Kyou officially taken over the lane?
As the season heads into its decisive stretch, the Gold Lane saga at TLID has turned into one of the most compelling storylines to watch.
