The 2025 PMSL SEA Spring tournament will take place from February 26 to March 9, 2025, at ibis Styles Sepang KLIA, Malaysia. This tournament consists of several stages: Group Stage, Super Weekend, and Grand Finals. One of the biggest changes in this tournament is the Smash Rule, which will be applied in the second week of the Group Stage and Super Weekend.

What is the Smash Rule?
The Smash Rule is a new regulation designed to make the competition more intense. It will be implemented during the second week of the Group Stage and Super Weekend with the following mechanics:
-
If a team reaches Match Point (which is the #1 team's points +10 points), they must secure a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) to claim the championship.
-
If no team secures a WWCD despite reaching Match Point, their highest accumulated points will still be counted.
-
In the second week of the Super Weekend, the number of matches can reach eight per day to ensure high-intensity competition.
Why is the Smash Rule Implemented?
The Smash Rule is introduced to make matches more thrilling and challenging. Without this rule, teams with the highest points might play defensively in the final matches and still win. With the Smash Rule, teams must stay aggressive until the end to secure victory.
This rule adds a new layer of challenge to the PMSL SEA Spring 2025, ensuring that teams not only need to collect points but must also secure a WWCD after reaching Match Point. This makes the competition more exciting and strategic until the very last game!
