Solo Leveling Episode 7 Review
1. Jinwoo's Resistance is Increased
Episode 7 of Solo Leveling began with Woo Jinchul receiving a report regarding an incident in a C-rank dungeon involving Jinwoo and Jinho. This incident caught Jinchul's attention due to Jinwoo's involvement, as Jinwoo had previously survived the double dungeon incident. The narrative switches to a conversation between Jinwoo and Jinah, where Jinwoo is drinking beer but suddenly he receives a notification regarding the presence of dangerous substances in the drink (alcohol).
Jinwoo also realized that thanks to completing the secret mission called "Courage of the Weak" obtained in the second episode of Solo Leveling, he had a body that was always healthy and could recover if he was sick. This body also has immunity to toxic substances such as alcohol and has a high regeneration ability. This is what makes him unable to get drunk even if he drinks alcohol.
2. Offered a Partnership from Yoo Jinho
Jinwoo got a call from Jinho, then the two of them met because Jinho wanted to talk to him about something. Jinho invited Jinwoo to join him in forming a Hunter team for him. Because Jinwoo refused, Jinho tried to persuade him to just join his party to complete 19 dungeon raids which would make Jinho eligible to form a new Hunter Guild and become chairman. He even offered Jinwoo 30 billion in exchange for his cooperation if Jinwoo accepted. But in fact, Jinwoo rejected the offer because he didn't want to take risks with his condition which other hunters rarely had.
3. Hwang Dongsoo's Introduction
After what happened in episode 6 of Solo Leveling, and how Hwang Dongsuk's death is now known in other guilds, this episode introduces Hwang Dongsoo who is one of the main antagonists of the animation, namely Hwang Dongsuk's younger brother.
Hwang Dongsoo, who appears to be abroad, investigates the circumstances surrounding his brother's death in a C-rank dungeon and concludes that his brother's death was a murder. This will allow you to look forward to setting the stage for future conflicts between Sung Jinwoo and Hwang Dongsoo. It seems that Dongsoo will have an important role that will be influential in the plot of this anime.
4. Received a Key to the Demon Castle
While running with Jinah, Jinwoo realized that he could complete his daily mission beyond the goal limit that had to be completed. After doubling his daily missions, the mission turned into a secret mission and Jinwoo completed it. Thanks to completing this mission, Jinwoo got an S-rank dungeon key which led him to a demon castle.
When Jinwoo discovered that in this dungeon there was the Elixir of Life, a potion that has the power to cure all diseases with its magical properties. The revelation of this fact makes Jinwoo determined to conquer the dungeon in the hope of finding a cure for his mother's eternal sleep disease. Jinwoo finally made up his mind to enter the S-rank Dungeon, and when he entered the devil's castle, Jinwoo was faced with the formidable Cerberus Guarding the Gates of Hell and a thrilling battle ensued.
5. Facing Cerberus, the Castle Guardian
Immediately upon entering the castle, Jinwoo was immediately faced with a formidable enemy, namely Cerberus, the Guardian of the Gates of Hell. Due to the different level differences with the boss, Jinwoo found himself at a disadvantage when the boss entered rage mode, allowing the boss to enhance his already formidable abilities, and push Jinwoo to his limits in battle. Jinwoo even received warnings several times due to losing a lot of blood due to Cerberus' strong attacks. Jinwoo tried to hide and heal himself and remembered he had his poison-canceling ability and decided to use a bottle of Kasaka's Venom Gland potion.
The potion had a damaging effect on his muscles, thereby increasing Jinwoo's physical endurance. Jinwoo continued to fight while waiting for Cerberus' rage mode to end. When the mode ended, Jinwoo took the opportunity to fight him directly. Even though he struggled and almost faced death because his HP was reduced and he was also bitten and lost a lot of blood, Jinwoo was able to put up resistance until he finally emerged victorious over a formidable enemy.
After that, Jinwoo reviewed the gift he had received from the enemy, and he obtained another key, namely the Castle Door Key. Additionally, he unlocked the crafting formula for the Elixir of Life. However, the System informed him that the ingredients needed to make the potion were located within the Demon Castle. Episode 7 ends with Jinwoo feeling that he is not strong enough, and Jinwoo decides to return after he strengthens his abilities.
