After a break for one episode last week, the Solo Leveling anime returns this week with the eighth episode of the anime. After episode 7 of Solo Leveling, you saw how Sung Jinwoo killed Cerberus, the Guardian of the Gates of Hell, even though the difference in levels was far, indicating how Jinwoo's strength had developed, which had become stronger than before. In the previous episode, you were also introduced to the figure of Hwang Dongso who has a grudge against Jinwoo after the death of his brother Hwang Dongsuk.

In episode 7 too, you were shown how Jinwoo received an offer of cooperation from Yoo Jinhoo who persuaded him to only join his party to complete 19 dungeon raids which would enable Jinho to fulfill the requirements to form a new Hunter Guild and become chairman. If you think the offer given by Jinho has just been finished, it turns out that in episode 8 there is something that is still relevant from that episode. In this episode, you are also introduced to more of the supporting characters in the story. Instead of being curious, let's discuss directly what important things are in Solo Leveling Episode 8. Review of Solo Leveling Episode 8

1. Jinwoo Accepted Jinho's Offer

If in the previous episode, you thought Jinwoo rejected Jinho's offer and just left, it turns out the truth was only revealed in this episode. Jinwoo accepted Jinho's offer to carry out 19 dungeon raids to make it one of the requirements to be able to form a new Hunter Guild. Jinwoo wanted several requests that Jinho had to be fulfilled for this approval because Jinwoo thought it was too risky, Jinwoo wanted only the two of them to enter the C-rank Dungeon. With a minimum of 8 people, he only needed to find people who wanted to fill the party without having to fight.

2. Explanation of the Guild in the World of Solo Leveling 

In this episode, we also see how people from Yoojin Construction offer Cha Hae In to join him in forming a new Guild. Then the scene continues by explaining the names of the Hunter Guild in the story. The explanation is that since the presence of the 'Gate,' there have been many changes in the world, starting from infrastructure, economics, media, and politics which will ultimately be related to dungeons. Moreover, now all infrastructure cannot stand without resources from the dungeon anymore.

This scene also explains Jinho's father's ambition to form a new Hunter Union. There are currently 5 guilds, namely, the Hunter Guild, the White Tiger Guild, the Angel of Death Guild, the Fame Guild, and the Knights Guild, which are the five largest and strongest national guilds that monopolize the market.

3. Jinwoo Felt Desperate to Level Up

After completing the secret mission by exceeding his daily mission quota, now Jinwoo's extra points no longer have any effect. So, Jinwoo now felt like he wanted to level up more efficiently, while currently he was still waiting for news from Jinho to carry out the C-dungeon mission. Jinwoo thought about fighting the monster in the penalty zone that he first found when he first received punishment for not completing the mission. But Jinwoo thought, maybe he wouldn't get any EXP even if he fought him, so it wouldn't help him level up.

4. Reunited with the Initial Party Members

Suddenly, there was a notification inviting him to enter a D-rank Dungeon from the Hunter Guild asking him to join in forming an attack unit for this mission. He was hesitant about accepting the mission, but in the end, Jinwoo accepted the invitation. It turns out that not only did he accept this invitation, but his colleagues in the original party in the Double Dungeon incident in episode 1, returned. The scene shows several characters who are currently living their own lives and suddenly receive a message inviting them to join the mission.

Among those who joined, there was Song Chiyul who lost one arm in the Double Dungeon incident. There is Mr. Kim who was asked by his wife to stop being a Hunter, but due to financial reasons, demanded him to continue this dangerous mission. Then there was Joohee, who was scolded by her mother because she was deemed not strong enough even though she was destined to be a B-rank Hunter. They met again on a D-rank dungeon mission this time after not seeing each other for a long time since the incident in the Double Dungeon.

5. Enterd the D-Rank Dungeon with Convicts

Returning to join the previous party members did not surprise them. This time, the D-rank mission will be followed by three prisoners joining them, and they didn't come to play around, these prisoners were those on probation, who came to want to reduce their sentences. Even so, this does not rule out the fact that these three characters are quite worrying, especially with the depiction of the characters as being like delinquents and psychopaths.

Due to the shortage of Hunters in the area, the Hunter Union decided to carry out a mission together with the three prisoners. They don't go alone, because there is a B-rank unter, Kang Taesik, who will monitor the three prisoners so that they won't act rashly and if they do violate, they can immediately finish off the prisoners. But of course, this still worries everyone in the area.

This eighth episode ended before Jinwoo and his party friends finally entered the dungeon. According to many fans who watched this episode, there was too much filler and additional scenes that seemed unnecessary. There are too many long-winded explanations for the whole story. The audience was even fooled when they saw Jinwoo accept Jinho's offer because, in the previous episode, the audience was made to believe that Jinwoo had rejected the offer, and returned to Jinho after fighting Cerberus. It was still on the same day when Jinho offered Jinwoo the collaboration. However, this might be good for those who are just following the Solo Leveling story so they can get the story details well.
