In the latest chapter of the Attack on Titan manga, the universe is in chaos after Eren released his Rumbling to unleash and gain control of the Wall Titans on Paradis Island. Some of you may be wondering, why would Eren do that?
Surely there’s a reason why Eren chose to commit genocide with Rumbling, instead of compromising with the other nations. But what could it be? Without further ado, let’s get into it!
What Is A Rumbling?
Before we delve into Eren’s reason to do a Rumbling, let’s talk about the meaning of Rumbling itself? To put it simply, Rumbling is a catastrophic event that involves thousands of Wall Titans on Paradis Island, destroying all lives on earth.
As we already know, Eren does possess the power of the Founding Titan, and he can control thousands of Wall Titans with this power after coming in contact with Zeke Yeager.
How Did Eren Find Out About the Rumbling?

The Reason Why Eren Goes For A Rumbling
The Rumbling is a mighty force, and completely destructive. So, why would Eren choose to go for a Rumbling instead of negotiating with other nations to pardon Paradis Island?
Actually, it has been covered in Chapter 122 of the Attack on Titan manga, where Marley invited the whole world to eradicate Paradis, calling it the Island of the Devils.
Surely, Eren wouldn’t let his hometown be destroyed. He prefers to go for a Rumbling rather than negotiating, saying that destroying the entire world will erase the hatred for Paradis Island, and start everything from scratch.
Even if Eren went with a peaceful approach, the hatred for Paradis Island will never be erased. That’s why Eren decided to scorch the entire world with the power of thousands of Wall Titans.
By erasing the hatred for Paradis Island, Eren and teammates would live in a more peaceful and safe world without any disturbances from across the sea.
Then why do some of Eren’s friends are against Rumbling? Well, we will discuss that in the next article since it would be too long.
After knowing Eren’s reason for Rumbling, what do you guys think about Eren? Do you still see him as a good, virtuous character or an evil one since he decided on a genocide? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
