The MPL Malaysia Season 17 (MPL MY S17) competition is heating up as it nears its mid-season mark. It's been almost a few weeks since teams have been competing in the new partnership league format, further enhancing the competitive atmosphere of MPL MY S17. Last week, the match between Selangor Red Giants (SRG) and Invictus Gaming (iG) drew intense scrutiny. The match was won by Selangor Red Giants (SRG) over Invictus Gaming (iG). However, during an interview with Rose, the host, SRG's EXP Laner, Kramm made what were deemed inappropriate remarks about Invictus Gaming. This was sparked by several acts of verbal taunting by iG players.

The match between Selangor Red Giants (SRG) and Invictus Gaming (iG) took place on Sunday, May 3, 2026. SRG won the match 2-0, proving their undefeated status. After the match, host Rose conducted an interview with two SRG players, Sekysss and Kramm. When Rose asked Kramm for his response to the match, Kramm taunting his enemy team made a remark that was considered inappropriate.
"They such a clown," Kramm said curtly. Host Rose appeared shocked and asked Kramm and even Sekyss who taught him that. However, Kramm taunting Invictus Gaming and used a derogatory term. "All, all of (players) them, they're clowns," Kramm added. "They talk a lot on social media. They always bark but don't know how to bite."
Kramm taunting to Invictus Gaming immediately sparked controversy among fans, including the MLBB community in Malaysia, who deemed Kramm's actions highly inappropriate and unsportsmanlike. Meanwhile, some fans also felt that Kramm's comments were merely an allusion, but were delivered inappropriately. Shortly after the match, Kramm posted a message apologizing for his actions.
SRG Kramm Taunting Leads to Controversy, Writes Public Apology
Shortly after the match and following a post-match media interview, Kramm appeared to post an apology on his Instagram account. He appeared to regret his actions and acknowledged that his remarks were inappropriate. "I'm deeply sorry for what just happened. It's really bad language from me. It's my first and last time. Btw ggwp for today," Kramm wrote on his Instagram account.
Despite on his written apology, MPL Malaysia took further action due to the controversy and debate among fans. While it was Kramm's spontaneous reaction to the taunting, MPL Malaysia deemed it necessary to take action to ensure players and teams maintain good sportsmanship in matches and competitions.
